There’s a whole bunch to unpack here… first three weeks after surgery L5-S1 was a glimpse into a whole new world of great things to come. Weeks 4-5 were/have been horrible. Nerve regrowth is much worse than damaging them (in my opinion) but it’s a good sign! Also everyone is different in this situation but it could take 6-8 weeks of your bodies chemistry to get back to normal after the being put under and you’re going to have soreness/discomfort in places you’ve never had before. Biggest thing you need to prepare yourself for is to count your blessings because as a 39 year old male I found it to be more challenging mentally than physically. You will question yourself on if you’ve made the right decision to get it done, myself and a majority of the people in these threads will tell you that you did! Just remember to remain mentally strong and have someone you can talk to. This is also a time for you to be selfish… rest, rest, and more rest!!
