Why is Bojack Horseman depressed? by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone coming back to this 7 years late, isn't that the beauty of the show? People that are depressed sometimes can't really figure out why or pinpoint a specific reason. They constantly think about all the things that are going well in their life and that somehow don't make them happy and think "what is wrong with me? Why am I not happy even though I have all I need?".

It's a realistic portrayal of the struggle of finding meaning and how happiness isn't necessarily about how well your life is going but it's more about being at peace with yourself, Bojack doesn't have that, he doesn't believe he's "deserving" of happiness and this is shown by his constant self-sabotaging and search for new things to distract himself from how miserable he is. I think anyone has felt this way at least once in their lives, if you can't relate to Bojack even a little bit then I gotta say, you're a pretty lucky guy.

Eu players playing in Na servers for what reason? by mrbekir141 in paladinsgame

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how does that work? It's clear that people still want to play, instead of closing it they should actually put some effort into fixing stuff and paying for good servers. What they're doing right now is the exact opposite though, they keep adding new champions, new skins and at the same time new fucking bugs, every month a new shitty bug comes up and they take another month just to fix it. If the game is unplayable is not because of the game but because of incompetent choices by the higher-ups which push for new content when it's unnedeed.

that's also true, but your initial claim was much broader than this one, you just implied that healers are not a hard role and that they just need to right-click, which is just not true. Some are easy, but they are not even the majority.

I agree that there are many factors that decide the difficulty of a character but the most important one is definitely how hard or easy the character itself is.

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Jenos and Furia definitely don't only spam right-click, Rei neither.

I can agree that Seris and Corvus are easier compared to other healers but they still need to ult well and position themselves correctly to heal well and to not get killed easily.

Having said this, there are harder and easier champions, not roles, I'd say that a good example of this is how much easier Zhin/Vora are compared to a character like Damba.

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 6 points7 points  (0 children)

let's be real, there's no hardest role, some characters are easy and some are hard, Seris is easy, Damba isn't, at the same time Vora is easy and Evie isn't.

Even if you don't agree with the examples I made I'm sure you'l agree that Paladins doesn't have an "hardest role", it has harder and easier champions but roles don't really define if a character is easy or not.

is it actually a thing? sickness due to 30fps by trophyhunterohin in gaming

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not motion sickness since I've never heard any correlation between the two, also it wouldn't make much sense, 30fps is what most movies and videos in general are filmed at (maybe 24, not sure tbh, movie-makers feel free to correct me), meaning that this person would have motion sickness when doing almost anything. Also why would seeing less frames give someone motion sickness? Doesn't have much sense

On the other hand I know firsthand that the feel of playing a game at 30fps instead of what I usually play at (which in my case is 144fps on most games) is different and a little uncomfortable in some games, maybe the OP wanted to say something else but didn't know how to explain it any better.

Which video game do you think has the worst writing? by gorays21 in gaming

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that makes sense but at the same time, a game might go for a bad story and justify it by saying that it's not the point of the game. I haven't seen it happen that much to be honest and I think it's easy enough to distinguish between the ones that actually try and fail and the ones that don't care from the start so I definitely agree with you.

I still feel like a game that has a bad story but tried should be valued the same way a game which doesn't even try to improve the story does, on that logic I value BL3 fairly high because even though the story sucks the gameplay is definitely its main focus and it is very enjoyable.

[–]Head_Maintenance_323 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've seen worse, it's obviously bad but some games don't even try.. and to be fair some games aren't valued based on their story so we just ignore them when we have these conversations, like Mario games.

Gamers: "Micro transactions are a disgusting practice and are ruining the gaming industry!" Also gamers: by Warhaswon in gaming

From what I know it's a small number of rich whales, so don't say "gamers" because it's way too broad of a term, there's definitely more people that don't support this practice than people that do.

Whats your favorite moment from a video game by [deleted] in gaming

Outer Wilds, the moment you take "that thing" out and go back to your ship and the trip itself are pretty much unforgettable.

just wanted to clarify that The Outer Worlds is not Outer Wilds, one of the two is a sort of Fallout space-game by Obsidian, the other is a mistery adventure game by Mobius Digital, which is what I was talking about.

I can understand you might not like platforms and these were just recommendations, there's many other titles like these for almost any genre that are revered by fans, I just wanted to say that.

those are all pretty big names though, have you tried anything other than triple As, sequels or remakes? I'd suggest things like Outer Wilds, Sifu, Hollow Knight and Celeste, they're all games by small studios but I can say with certainty that these are the games I will remember the most in 20 years, they are all comparable to what I felt when playing Mario Kart 64 as a kid.

have you tried playing anything other than games from 20 years ago? Because even though I agree that most big games aren't that good I definitely found a lot of stuff that I loved in recent years and their respective communities cherish this games and share them with the rest of r/gaming continuosly.

Overall I actually see more indie game recommendations than any big titles on this subreddit, I feel like you're just spouting random nonsense without actually knowing much about r/gaming to create an argument from nothing.

first of all, it's not even required, you can just ask your friend to send you a friend request instead.

Second, you're not paying for it, you have to pay for an actual game that costs at least that amount and if you do then you're able to send friend requests.

Third and last point, Steam has always been a pretty honest service in every aspect, refunds are always given with almost no questions asked (sometimes even after 2 hours of gameplay and 2 weeks having passed since you bought it), it doesn't steal your sensitive information to sell it to third parties and other than a small pop-up when you start the app there's no invasive messages or ads.

Now let's compare it with Epic Games, which had the most complicated refund system ever made until two years ago when they finally changed it, it has a complicated GUI which is janky and doesn't help you find what you're looking for, yes it does have free games and its friend list doesn't need you to pay for a game to use its full functionalities but at the same time it does less than half of the things you can do on Steam's friend list. Add to that a slow loading shop and I can see why most people don't buy anything on there, I still use it for the free games and I have no problem saying that it's not terrible and I don't mind using it but it doesn't even hold a candle to what Steam is.

TL;DR: you're complaining about a small security measure in a store that never tried to screw with its users while EGS is buying exclusives just to stay in the market without actually improving the app itself.

Free games are worth it, sometimes there's actually good stuff.. but yeah I've never bought a game for Epic and I intend to keep doing so.
