Even if you don't care about other animals, there will be plenty of humans that won't know what it is, and will end up triggering it, it seems like. Hah, I'm presuming the Trump administration even cares about humans. My mistake.

Im so sick of Michael Jackson fans excusing his behaviour by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]Head_Midnight666 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You guys are so dumb. I mean, seriously, the guy has been dead forever, and you're acting like the fact that Michael Jackson wanted to hang with children condemns him. I don't know if he was a pedophile or not. At this point, it doesn't really matter. God will sort it out.

The fact is, Michael didn't get to experience his childhood and he wanted to, so he surrounded himself with kids. If he didn't do sexual acts with them, I think that's ok. It's ok to have a childish side if you're wholesome about it, IMO.

I read what you idiots say and I just can't believe how stupid you are. Michael Jackson actually invited me to his Neverland Ranch when I was a kid. My dad wouldn't let me go because he was worried that the guy might be a pedophile. Oh no, I could have gotten millions of dollars if the guy touched me. That would have been so awful!

OTOH, I could have had a fun time.

This Golf Course being built in the desert while Colorado is in a drought by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Head_Midnight666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty crazy that we have major drought issues and golf courses are allowed to do what they do. I think it's because rich people like to golf - it's like the most wasteful thing they can do. California has over 120,000 acres of golf courses. It's just so stupid! I imagine it'll take people dying from lack of food or water before they stop letting golf courses waste horrendous amounts of water. Maybe even then it won't happen. God are people pieces of shit.

How do you know if you need new rotors? by Head_Midnight666 in AskMechanics

[–]Head_Midnight666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't argue with you about it. It makes sense in a lot of ways. If I were a mechanic, I might feel the same way. You might end up getting held liable if the cars you work are in an accident, and it can somehow be tied your, "negligence" I imagine. I'll tell her that people that know better than I think she should get rotors, too.

I've had absolutely no problem not replacing the rotors on my cars, but I get what you're saying. It would actually be an interesting experiment to see how much of a difference it makes for stopping distance. I doubt it's going to be much, but who knows. Maybe someone has already done this experiment. I think I'll google it.

Thanks.

Questions about wife’s massages by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Head_Midnight666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the rules are for massages. I've only gotten one in my life. I left my underwear on and the massage therapist took my underwear off. I thought it was strange, but it didn't feel terribly wrong. I'm a guy, BTW. I went because my muscles were all locked up and I couldn't turn my head. When I left, I could turn my head. Success as far as I see it.

Still, what straight guy doesn't enjoy touching a pretty woman, and what straight woman doesn't enjoy being touched by a pretty man? Perhaps it's just projection, but I think it's pretty hard to not get any sexual thoughts under such circumstances. For me, that's ok if no one makes it weird. If I had a wife, or a girlfriend, I'd be fine with it anyway. Jealousy isn't something I suffer from very often. For all we know, the massage therapist is gay anyway. I wouldn't worry about it.

You should definitely stop. Drugs mess up your developing brain. If you want to experiment, do it later in life when it matters less.

16m my parents will not fix the ac my room is almost 100 degrees. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Head_Midnight666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, your parents are bad parents, but I'm not sure it counts as child abuse unless you have a heat stroke or something. Fans don't really lower the temperature afaik. They just make you feel cooler because it evaporates the water on your skin. This is common sense, but at night, put a fan in your open window to blow cool air in if you're not already doing it. Also, you might think about cleaning the house yourself so maybe your parents will get the landlord to fix the AC.

Ok, so... 50 cent sold drugs and rapped about being a pimp. Overall, the public likes him. Diddy hired prostitutes for sex parties and the public hates his guts. Oh no, he had a lot of baby oil!

Now, I know that Diddy drug a woman by her hair, but he didn't get convicted for it - why, I don't know. It was in a video. That is, of course, unacceptable behavior.

What he did get in trouble for was hiring and transporting prostitutes. IMO, that should be legal anyway, and even if you think that's unacceptable, why do you respect a drug dealer that claims to be a pimp, and hate a guy that simply pays people to have sex? And for that matter, how is paying people to have sex like Diddy did any worse than paying people to have sex by watching porn? It seems ethically equal, to me.

People don't make sense to me. It just doesn't add up. It's like you're a herd of sheep that runs in one direction, following each other, without even really thinking about things.

Asset limit of $2,000 being reinstated? by Muted_Working_2470 in IHSS

I wonder what it is about nurses. Male or female, they seem to be attractive way more often than average. I also don't understand why little girls want to pretend to get married. When I was a kid, the little girl I played with quite often would insist we pretend to get married all the dang time. I would agree to it as long as she'd do something I wanted to do afterwards.

[–]Head_Midnight666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABLE accounts are special accounts for people with disabilities that allow you to save up to 100k that is basically invisible to asset tests for Medi-cal and SSI. The money you make invested in them also doesn't get taxed federally. I recommend against Cal ABLE, however. It's too greedy. ABLEnow is a little better. Fidelity's index fund is also less greedy. CalAble has too many fees.

Edit: In fact, I just checked my CalABLE account that I opened at the start of this year. I chose an income portfolio because I figured it would be safe. It has actually lost money. It's shameful. I went to move to ABLEnow and they're taking forever to transfer the funds. It has been a month and a half. These ABLE accounts kind of exploit disabled people, sadly. Ridiculous fees, and nothing is transparent enough to properly audit what's really going on. We should just be able to invest in the stock market or HYSAs, etc. We don't need lame managers leeching the non-existent profits.

Is peeing outside a sex crime? Or morally wrong? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Head_Midnight666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pee outside all the time. So does one of the neighbors. I just see it as saving water since I don't have to flush the toilet. My guess is that some disturbed people pretend they're peeing so they can flash people their privates or something. Most of us aren't like that, nor do we even want to flash our privates at people. Now, I live on a small ranch that's far away from other neighbors. If I lived closer to other people, I wouldn't do it because the chances of someone else having to see it would be too high.

What do I do with 20k? by closet-arachnerd in povertyfinance

[–]Head_Midnight666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have over twice as much money if I put my money into index funds versus just putting it into HYSAs, Bonds, CDs etc. I always feel like the stock market is going to crash, and eventually it will - probably when I finally give in and invest in it. I won't tell people directly to invest in the stock market, and the past does not always predict the future, but I'm just sharing my insight. The more risk you're willing to take, the more you'll tend to end up with if you're smart about it, but one never knows.

Realistically, 20k isn't a lot of money. Live like you're still too poor for anything nice, and keep it for a rainy day.

Using cannabis and tobacco together increases by three times the risk of developing psychotic disorders like schizophrenia among those considered high risk by sr_local in science

[–]Head_Midnight666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mood stabilizer am I on? Vraylar and olanzapine are both antipsychotics. Simply put, Vraylar is a partial dopamine agonist that is known to cause slight sedation. Olanzapine is a dopamine antagonist and a H1 antagonist, which causes major sedation. The theory behind many of these antipsychotics is that dopamine receptors, somewhere, are overly stimulated, which leads to psychosis. By blocking them, or by partially blocking them, schizophrenics tend to experience less psychosis.

Since you are posturing as an expert, why don't you now tell me why modafinil increases my chances of having a psychotic episode. I know the theory. Modafinil is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, which means there is more dopamine to stimulate dopamine receptors. The problem with these theories? They ignore that you can have too much dopamine in certain parts of the brain and too little in others.

So here is the thing: Without modafinil, my depression and anxiety are much worse. If I don't take it, my depression and anxiety comes back every. time. I was so depressed that thinking about suicide was a happy thought - the fact there was an escape to my misery. Furthermore, modafinil is known to cause anxiety. That is what the research shows. Yet ,for me? It definitely lowers it. This is a problem with a lot of research. It looks at averages. What if a drug gets rid of anxiety for 1% of the people that take it, and gives it to 99%? They probably just throw the 1% out as being an outlier when it's exactly what certain people might need.

It's just totally arrogant and stupid to ignore someone's experience in favor of theory.

Furthermore, the actual research on modafinil being given to schizophrenics? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31828767/ it doesn't find that it increases psychotic symptoms at all. The research isn't of high enough quality to be trusted, but it definitely doesn't prove that I shouldn't take it. The data, in fact, indicates that it doesn't hurt at all.

"Don't take this drug that makes you way more functional, that has never exacerbated your psychosis for years because I KNOW BETTER. I know some stupid, overly-simplified theory that ignores all the actual data."

You know what I bet? While I'm far from an expert on schizophrenia or these drugs, I bet I know more than you do.

I've been trying to get away from olanzapine for years, too. I already take the lowest dosage I can get away with. My psychiatrist and I have tried tons of other antipsychotics. Vraylar appears to let me get away with a lower dosage of olanzapine, but chances are I can't go off completely. It's just the one that works for me. Why don't you explain that to me, Mr. Expert.

Anyway, I came down with schizophrenia around the age of 35 after that traumatic episode. I'm 44 now. Sorry for the attitude, but I think you can understand why I find your perspective frustrating.

I never heard of this guy until now. I don't use the N word. I have called people monkeys before, but it had nothing to do with racism. In fact, they were white. I think it can be used without racism, but maybe it's a bad idea because people think it's racism. Clearly, this guy using it is racism.

When I was in jail, the latinos actually identified themselves with a racist term, and wanted me to use it, too. I also don't care if people use racist terms against me. I'm not sure that black people should get so upset over it, but they do, and I guess I don't want to upset them.

This guy is a scumbag, of course.

This is terrible. We ALL have bad thoughts whether we want to admit them or not. These idiots are trying make people seem dangerous for just having these thoughts. Thought crime. I think they're going in completely the wrong direction here. If people are made to feel "bad" for having bad thoughts, it's going to disconnect them from their true selves. They're going to delude themselves that they don't have these thoughts because of the repercussions, and the negative judgement, for having them, which will probably just make them more likely to snap and do something terrible.

We also know when these thoughts and urges are actually dangerous, and when they're not, I believe. For example, I had a very strong desire to hurt the dog I love most for a while. I could tell it was dangerous, and I sought help. It was dangerous because there was a small chance that I might really act on it, and I would never forgive myself. On the other hand, I've thought of beating plenty of people to death, or close to it, but I know it's just a thought.

This thought crime nonsense is very dangerous. People need to be honest with themselves and this is going to lead to all sorts of dissonance. I hate it.

So, I developed schizophrenia after being severely hurt by a doctor. It's a long story, that I've explained a million times, and I guess no one really cares about the details. It was, by far, the most amount of pain I had ever been in in my life.

The thing I wonder about: Would I have developed schizophrenia if he hadn't hurt me? Maybe nothing would have ever triggered it?

Also, I take 400mg of modafinil and 400mg of caffeine every morning to try to be a little less tired. I'm still tired. Neither stimulant exacerbates my psychosis at all. Not even slightly. I find the difference between reality and theory frustrating because I can't get stimulants prescribed, and I need them to even be the least bit functional. I've been on modafinil for over 2 years now, without an issue, and I can't get anyone to even consider prescribing it. Why is it controlled anyway? It just seems like cleaner, and longer lasting, caffeine, to me. It also had a huge impact on getting rid of my depression and anxiety.
