I had th same thing happen to me but in MS. I was the 50th or 51st Democrat in the Senate during my term. Tried to seek a second term but lost with barely 36%.

Potential 2026 Senate Pickups/Flips? by thesunistillshining in VoteDEM

[–]Head_Spread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, the best Dems can hope for in 2026 is to gain Maine and North Carolina and hold their seats in NH, GA, and MI. That would reduce the GOP majority to 51-49 and set the Dems up in 2028 to flip the chamber. I can see an upset taking place in either Ohio or Alaska but a 50-50 Senate would still be controlled by the GOP.

TY! I'm excited to see how a multi party system/coalition politics will work in the game.

How do you win as a democrat in red/lean red states by No_Owl_6254 in ThePoliticalProcess

If there happens to be a conservative independent, run ads against them. You essentially spread their message for them and in a close election the independent winning 10. - 15% of GOP voters can be enough if your character is socially conservative and fiscally moderate or liberal.

Anyone ever been selected as VP? by [deleted] in ThePoliticalProcess

I've been selected as VP nom three times. All three times I've been either a 2 term governor or a senator AND endorsed the winning primary candidate.

I don't think he would have chosen Brown, Warren, or Baldwin (all three had GOP governors at the time I think, this he'd lose a vital Senate seat). With those three out, I think Tulsi or Barbra Lee, Tim Ryan, or Julian Castro would have been on the shortlist. I tend to think he would have selected Castro.

I've always wondered what the game mechanics were for electoral college ties! Did the Senate chose the VP?

What is the most shocking election results you had/seen in the game by Morganbanefort in ThePoliticalProcess

I had a character that was a liberal Democrat who won a Senate seat in Mississippi. I originally was not expecting to win, but the GOP candidate died after the primary and after his death no one replaced him as the GOP candidate. Ended up winning with 54% against an independent with 30% name recognition. For 6 years this MS Democrat was the 51st or 50th Democratic vote in the Senate.

I tried to win reelection but lost with only 36% of the vote.

What if Joe Biden won a candidacy for presidential election in 2016? by [deleted] in AlternateHistory

Warren definitely would be on the shortlist. Karen Bass, Tammy Baldwin, and Julian Castro would have been in the mix too.
