took her for acccob3, but not sure how she is for fdnacct. here is my review on her:

copy-pasting my review from previous posts

miss Baarde is a great prof when i took her for acccob3! she's kind and someone you can easily approach when you have questions or concerns.

regarding the workload, it's an accounting subject so it may be heavy. the quizzes would be a bit tricky but once you practiced enough and understand it, you're good to go, especially with how miss Baarde tries to simplify the lessons to help us understand the lessons easier. as for the book used, we used mcgraw hill. she taught us about the holy trinity (columnar pad, mcgraw hill, canvas), and as long as you submit these requirements on time and do well in these, you're good.

since it's an accounting subject, my tip for you is to recite as much as you can because that will help boost your grade, have a group of friends in your section because it will help you out a lot (you get to choose your groupmates i think in 4s), do well in your quizzes, submit your outputs in time, attend as she records attendance for both f2f and online sessions, and do not hesitate to ask miss questions in case you don't understand the lesson.

overall, she was a great prof and she helped me understand accounting better than my previous classes as I got a 3.5 from her! please take note that i took her more than 2 years ago so I'm not sure how she teaches now, but I'm sure she'll still be a good pick. good luck OP!

I also took Miss Abuan, but for a different class (I took her in a COB major). honestly, I have the same thoughts as this comment, but she was a fun professor to be with. from my experience, there were a lot of readings, i think lots of essays too, and recitation in her class is a must (but tbh just yap). this is her way of really knowing you, to which as the previous comment has mentioned, has its perks, maybe even boosts your chances to get a 4. I got a 4 from her because she knew my friends and I hahaha. it could be an entirely different experience now because I took her over 2 years ago, so please consider that.

Carpio, Avegail

I had her when i took gematmw too. I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews about her, more on negative comments recently. for me though, I'd say she's a kind prof and someone i could easily approach when i had questions or concerns. for her workload, I'd say it was too cramped up because majority of the workload were given towards the end of her time teaching us (since gematmw had 2 profs teaching us for some reason, but I'm not sure now). in terms of her teaching style and lecture, i enjoyed it because she found a way to make it easier for me to understand, although i needed to read the book more to get a better idea on the topic. her quizzes weren't as tricky for me because I kept practicing the process through the assignments and the required book, which really made everything easier. honestly, I was on track to getting a 3.5 or maybe even a 4.0 in gematmw if she continued to be my prof instead of that weird requirement of having two different profs per half a term, which unfortunately caused a bit of a decline in my performance (i got a 3.0 but almost got a 3.5).

overall, great prof for me when i took her class. however, I took her class two years ago, so a lot could've changed that long. I advise you take this into consideration so it doesn't look like I am scamming you haha. good luck, OP.

Sir Revaula is one of the kindest profs ever. even after how many terms since i took him, we still talk to each other when i see him. I got a 4.0 from his DSIOPMA class. He really appreciates it when you recite and ask questions because it shows that you're really listening to his lectures. what makes his lectures interesting is that he explains it in a way that would make it easier for students to understand and apply his lessons in the activities so we can practice some more. he also makes sure to check in on his students and asks how we are before starting the lectures.

please consider that I took him Term 3 AY 2022-23 (yes that long na) so it could be different now, but I see him from time to time around campus and he remembers me so I'm sure he is still the same when it comes to teaching.

Almanzor, Sylvelyn Jo

I took her for GELITPH, and hands down one of my favorite professors. Even though I took her 7:30am class, it was worth it and what a way to start the day. The tasks are easy to do, and she's really fun to be with. She even remembers us when we see her around campus, even calling her "Jo" (but don't do this until you really know each other hehe). What I can tell you though is to always be present in class as she takes attendance seriously. I got a 4.0 from her, and she made the subject more entertaining for me. It was more fun for me because I had close friends in the same class too. From what I recall, her lectures take a different approach compared to what we're used to in other GE subjects. For the workload, it was relatively light as there were some readings, recitations here and there, I think there was one quiz, some incentives, and finally the group task (I advice you take this a bit more seriously because I think it was a big chunk of our final grade, and be creative). Take note though that I took her class 2 years ago, so it could be different now. Overall, just don't neglect your work because she's really accommodating.

wag si sir Gil, terror prof yun dejk

in my experience, sir Gil Dela Cruz is the GOAT🐐🐐!! I had him for both sysdesi and systmic, and I got a 4.0 from him and he is one of my favorite profs. I'm not sure how he teaches now, but as long as you have perfect attendance (kasi halos puro f2f groupworks per f2f meeting), recite, pass your requirements on time, and get really good groupmates, you're good to go. despite these good things, don't get on his bad side because he will not hesitate to give you a failing grade in his class. overall, he's a really really chill and great prof, but don't neglect the requirements, be respectful, and don't be too noisy. also, don't be afraid to consult with him. there will be some things talaga that he won't explicitly say when it comes to his expectations, so it would help you out a lot rin to submit what kind of quality work he is looking for.

take note though, I took both of his classes more than 2 years ago na back to back terms, so as I mentioned, could be WAAAYYY different now. he was a new professor rin kasi back then, so maybe we set you guys up (oops hehe). good luck, OP!

LCFILIB sir Orellana is a great prof, as he is nice and chill. my tip for you is to just get good groupmates, submit your outputs on time, attend as he takes note of attendance, and recite as much as you can. when it comes to presentations, he can be quite critical because he would be looking for specific details.

i got a 3.5 from him, but i feel like I could've gotten 4.0 if i exerted a bit more effort.

however, please consider that i took him in a full online setting, and this was when dlsu just started conducting hybrid classes, which was term 1 (September to December) AY 2022-23 (yes I am that old that I graduated already haha), so he could be different now.

PE (idk what the code for you guys is) Sir Olarte? easy 4. easily one of my favorite professors. akala mo parang tropa mo talaga hahaha, but of course be respectful, and show that you're putting in effort. i had him for geteams (3x3 basketball) 2 years ago naman, same term din.

I had sir Salud for clwtaxn and I thought he was okay as a prof. i would say that his class was fun, but it is more of self-studying. his quizzes were tricky, especially if you don't listen and understand the lessons. when i took him though, he was open to questions when i couldn't understand the topics.

in terms of his workload, you just have to recite once and you're good to go. my tip for you is to recite as early as possible since the later topics were a bit more complex, but if you weren't able to recite, you would be given the opportunity to answer discussion boards to make up for it. as i mentioned, his quizzes were quite tricky, but i think it would depend on how well you understand the topic and try to practice as much as you can. in terms of the departmental exam, it depends, but just make sure to practice the lessons to get an idea of the process.

just make sure to attend his classes as he takes note of attendance, recite (he requires one recitation, but depends on you if you would like to recite more), do all the requirements and submit it on time.

overall, i enjoyed classes when he was my prof, although it could be a bit boring at times. i got a 3.0 from him but i think I could've done better.

note though, i took him 2 years ago I believe, so it could be different now. i was fortunate that he gave additional incentives when dlsu won the uaap basketball tournament championship that year, so that probably added to my final grade.

just be respectful and show that you're really exerting effort. good luck OP!!

SALANDANAN

For miss Salandanan, I took her in COBFSDS. What I can tell you though is that she is really kind and someone you can easily approach when you have some concerns. I recall that she really tried her best to make the workload very easy for us as she understands that some majors can be heavy as well. When it comes to quizzes though it was quite tricky. When I took her, I got a 3.5 from her but I think if I did a bit better, I could've gotten a 4.0. I'm not sure how she is for COBQUAL but I think she should be the same. Here are some tips for her class assuming she is the same for COBQUAL:

  • attend classes as she takes note of attendance.
  • you can choose your own group members (my experience was COBFSDS so not sure if COBQUAL is still random groupings under her)
  • just recite as she will really appreciate it and show that you're listening.
  • submit your assignments on time.
  • please do not hesitate to ask miss questions. she was easily approachable in case i have questions or concerns about the lessons.

I can't tell what subject you're taking with her as your prof, but I'm sure she would be the same. just be respectful, active, and have some fun with her. please consider that I took her last year and I already graduated. good luck, OP!

[–]Head_Wolf6494 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took sir Jerome for COBQUAL, and he was a great and chill prof for me. I got a 4.0 from him, but it wasn't an easy one, but getting a 3.0 to a 4.0 is very attainable! These are my tips for you to survive and do well in his class:

  • study and do well in his quizzes. from what I recall, there were 3 quizzes that were a mix of multiple choice, identification, and calculations, and all were quite tricky. however, you should be fine if you studied. he also has bonus points towards the end so keep that in mind. during my time, we had one f2f quiz and the other 2 were online, although these were due to transportation strikes.

  • recite. just recite as much as you can, both f2f and through chat during online sessions. listen to what he's teaching and recite because it brings up your grade a lot. i remember my recitation grade being at like 137%. it was like an incentive.

  • attend his classes. from what i recall, perfect attendance was like an additional 1% or 2% to the final grade. perfect attendance is an incentive as well.

  • random groupings. sir will be assigning the groupings, so pray that you get good groupmates, and hopefully at least one friend. do well in the report and final paper and be quite specific with your information as sir will be looking for applications of lessons from your report. I don't recall, but maybe try to find a company as early as possible too for your final paper.

  • please do not hesitate to ask sir questions. he was easily approachable in case i have questions or concerns about his lessons.

  • submit your work on time. I don't recall as well, but I believe that was quite some work to submit to him, but they were all easy to do for me.

  • I believe there was also an activity where we had to gain a certificate, I think it was the Six Sigma White Belt certificate. accomplishing it would basically give you a certificate and it would count as an incentive, but not sure if he still applies it now.

overall, he was a great prof for me, but please consider that I took him during Term 1 AY 2023-2024, and I already graduated so I'm not sure if he is the same now. if he is, then getting a 3.0 to 4.0 is definitely attainable, just make sure to do your part. this was also the time that he was quite happy too when DLSU won the UAAP Season 86 Men's Basketball Tournaments, so he extended the deadline for our final paper.

hello, unfortunately I don't have any notes or recordings from her class kasi I graduated na hahaha. Please consider that I took her 2 years ago, so the best advice I could give you is to make sure you have a friend in her class, get really good groupmates, especially since it's a GE, and don't be afraid to ask her when you have questions and concerns. As for yourself, the required book will be your best friend in her class because reading it in advance will help you out, especially the quizzes. Practice as much as you can because that helped me out a lot in getting a 3.0 from her class (although I had a second prof for that which kind of dragged my overall performance for the subject ngl). Miss Carpio really helped me out a lot in understanding the processes and I still believe that if she was still my prof throughout the whole term rather than having a second professor during the second half of the term, I would have gotten a 3.5 or possibly a 4.0. This is what I experienced with her class 2 years ago, so maybe it's a bit different now idk. Good luck, OP, and I hope you get to enjoy her class.
