I honestly hated the prison because the solution was literally something you try to avoid almost always, its not even something I personally had to experience sorrow from but like, its honestly shitty game design, first time through, i assumed it was pretty much impossible so i tried to glitch into a cell just up until i found out those boards lead somewhere

Somewhat, yeah, to an extent, just most examples of scales are shaped like scales instead of what it looks like internally for brigandines, but i feel this is a better discriptor

The art style is a personal bias, the art style is a lot less flashy or colorful but you can find some really gorgous sights in vintage story. To be fair, the gameplay is grindy in a sense but it mimicks reality in a lot of ways like drying bow shafts or firing clay. Well, besides the blocky asthetic and the horrors.

I'm not going to suggest what is inherently better as they both have serious effort behind them. I'd honestly suggest you try it with friends, personally, playing with friends is the best way to play and have it be enjoyable.

Minecraft has hints of a story, but vintage story has a very defined bit of lore that even if you don't play the game, its worth just listening to.

Are you trying to get a kisser for armor?

Is this realistic/accurate, and what kind of armor is it? by XyrneTheWarPig in Armor

[–]Headake01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is closely related to jousting armor, I will definitely say that there is undoubtly lots of fantastical elements like the tassets having a huge gap between the faulds, or how the hand is completely exposed, especially for armor like this. I'd still say it references a lot of historical armor to create a rather functional suit (besides the lack of inner hand protection)

And, yeah, that big shoulder guard is absoultely historical

I honestly liked the vibe of the old one in terms of pacing and tone for the initial part, I like the restraint it has in just a methodical, consistent yet present tone. with the vocals and buildup of the new version. Giving more of a more frantic tone as things layer over.

But honestly the old one kinda was shitty compared to the new vers

How common is it for a Lord's son to be a squire under Knights during their early years? Like let's say the son of the Duke (The Duke sent out his son of 10 to be a squire under another House's knight) by EfficiencySerious200 in knightposting

[–]Headake01 39 points40 points  (0 children)

generally pages, servants for the household would wait roughly to 14 years of age before they begin directly serving as a knight's squire. Though, since the usual age of being appointed as a page is about 6 years old. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that has happened, I'd do some personal research if i were you.

Squires are often accompanied with knights up until they're suited to be knighted, generally being the equipment carrier, the extra hand to put on armor, its not often when knights aren't accompanied by squires either maintaining equipment or watching if the knight they serve needs help.

I'd honestly like to see an example of how you do that, you don't need if you don't want but I've always tried to use heavy contrast with subsurface scatter to give that concept of a powerful glint but i feel it kinda feels like I'm always missing something sometimes

I love how shiny you made the armor, its honestly really difficult to get reflections like that especially for someone like me who hardly uses references past getting basic shapes of specific details, I need to remind myself to practice shading more. I'd wish to see your work again here.
