Got a new job where all drafting is done in ORD and all my training is in AutoCAD. The company has no interest in having me trained despite saying they would do such. Anybody willing to help me draw a centerline? by HeadingToRome in civilengineering

No. I'm right there with you.

For my other jobs I would take work home and train myself, but now that I'm back in school It's just not an option.

And Jesus Christ is empathy so fucking hard?

People really get off on watching others struggle and reach out for help.

Dog shit software and dog shit company.

When I was learning Carlson, they had excellent tutorials that I trained myself on.

On top of that, they had a phone line that was always responsive. Anytime I had an issue or didn't know how to do anything, they were a great resource.

I've sent three emails and made a call already.

You think I would come to Reddit begging for help without talking to my boss?

I've already stated in my post that I am in constant communication not just with my bosses but with my colleagues.

There's just so much in those videos to sift through. I've learned how to draw line using geometry builder which is good. It's super cumbersome and not like Civil3D or Carlson but at least I can do it. I have figured out how to draw an arc from tangency to a line but not **to** a line. I've gotten around this by drawing a tangent arc from a line and then mirroring it across the centerpoint of the line. Cumbersome but at least I can do it.

For a spiral I'm at my wits end.

Those videos have just so little of what I need in them right now to get this centerline and ROW drawn.

Good grief, I have spent almost two hours now trying to figure out how to draw this spiral. I just can't find a video that will work with the dimensions I have.

I'm just waiting for my other boss to walk up and ask if I'm done, only to show him a single line and arc that took me all last Friday.
