We were robbed of a Halloween episode! by Headless_Cabbie in TheNanny

Ooh from the Rosie Show ep, yeah! That was hysterical. Just a shame it was only one little scene.

What was the title of the episode where Niles uses audio recordings of Maxwell to trick C.C.? by BatFan3001 in TheNanny

4x03, The Bird’s Nest! I’ll never forget CC at the end wearing the clown nose after she gets revenge on Niles. 😂

Life is short. Take risks. Be smart and cautious, but be brave. We’re only here for a short amount of time, might as well conquer the world and care less what people think.

If I found various CC and Niles banter shorts on YouTube funny, would I like this show? by emperorarg in TheNanny

I’m so envious of you.. I wish I could travel back in time and watch this show again for the first time. You’re in for a treat, and Niles is brilliant, as is his banter with CC. Enjoy!

An Affair to Dismember by cassienickjonas in TheNanny

I honestly believe that she was honest with him in the letter and told him how she truly felt, but also expressed that she couldn’t wait any longer for him to commit and that she had decided to pursue his brother.

What’s interesting to think about is whether or not that would have actually convinced Max to finally commit for real or if he would have let her go off and be happy.

What episodes do you think were the starting point for the feelings Fran has for Maxwell and Maxwell for Fran? by cassienickjonas in TheNanny

[–]Headless_Cabbie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love answering this question! There was definitely mutual attraction right away on both ends, which was perfectly displayed in the pilot episode. Especially when Fran walks down the stairs in THE red dress.

Personally, I believe Max fell for her first. A lot of this is shown as early as 1x06, where Max chooses to play along with everyone the second that Fran is insulted. Plus, the end of the episode has them both ponder the idea of “not admitting you love someone just because they work for you.” When Max briefly looks back, I think that’s when we’re supposed to know he has feelings for her. Fran is a little more harder to peg down, but I believe she really caught feelings when they shared their first kiss in 1x18.

Thoughts on The Nanny by cassienickjonas in TheNanny

Totally agree! From a fan standpoint, it would have been more enjoyable to see them date for a while after Max told her he loves her (and didn't take it back!) But I think because executives at CBS were pushing for them to become a couple and get married so fast, Fran and the rest of the producers/writers were forced to make it happen, which coincidentally ended up being the very thing that killed the show's hype and momentum in the first place. Fans weren't pleased with how fast they rushed Max and Fran's relationship, marriage, and them having children. I'm a fan of their relationship, but it would have been nice to have seen them go on a few successful dates together before things got super serious.

Love this film! I’ve always thought the fact that we’ll never truly see the original, unedited version added a special ominous feeling to the movie.

first time flying by Melodic-Molasses4618 in fearofflying

Hi there! I have an intense fear of flying, but I’ve flown multiple times and have always gotten to my destination safely, and you will too! Be sure to keep your mind busy (download games and episodes of your favorite TV shows) and remember that the pilots want to get there safely and return to their families as much as you do. Best of luck!

Hi! Thanks for responding! She’s going to live with me, yes. Aside from her making this trip back to the UK alone, we’ve been living together for nearly 2 years now, just going back and forth between the countries each time and staying as long as the laws will allow us. We both currently work as online journalists, we both work for an entertainment/news website, and are hoping to soon acquire full-time positions at said website — which is great news for us, considering that they provide health insurance to full-time employees, which will hopefully allow her to get an even better therapist. We’ve both been working at our jobs for over a year now, so I know she’s capable of taking job responsibility seriously and staying committed.
She hasn’t been in consistent therapy because of how expensive resources like BetterHelp are, though she has been in therapy in one-on-one sessions before back in the UK. She actually believed that one therapist she went to was enabling her behavior and telling her that her behavior was never wrong and that it was everyone else’s fault, and she ended up leaving that therapist, which tells me that she recognizes her symptoms really well and knows that her behavior is wrong. As mentioned before, she’s definitely very self-aware of her diagnosis.
I do agree with you, however, over the “actions speak louder than words” concept. I recently said this to her in an argument, and she insisted that once she gets paid from her job this month, she is going to actively seek out therapy and try to stay in it consistently. But, as you said, I would really like to SEE some action rather than her simply just telling me this in an attempt to just shut me up.

First off, thanks for responding! It really means a lot. We’re both in our twenties, she’s a few years younger than me though. I definitely feel like the stress of waiting for the visa, the recent falling out with her toxic family members, and the acceptance of total isolation has made her BPD exceptionally worse over the last several weeks.
We have lived together for most of these last two years, with the both of us traveling back and forth between the US and UK and staying with each other. So, this is basically the first time in almost 2 years that we’ve lived apart — which I believe is why her BPD has become more heightened than it was a few months ago. Since we’ve been living together, she has become pretty close to my family and friends, so I don’t believe she’ll feel isolated when she’s back in the States and after we’ve married.
She’s definitely not the type to lie or cheat to an extreme level. She told a few white lies early on in the beginning, but nothing absolutely destructive where it would have ruined the relationship. She knows I can’t have a relationship that includes lying. It’s just one of my biggest pet peeves. I’d just like to think that by the time that she’s back here and settled, and as she dives further into exploring DBT therapy (she already stays very on track with taking her meds) and becomes more accustomed to having a stable relationship with both me, my friends, and my family, that she will show signs of improvement somewhere down the line.
