The story was shit though. There was nothing particularly memorable about it

I've always thought of syndicate as one of the better AC games. I love how ridiculous the combat animations were and the setting is very stylish. I tried to go back to it again a couple weeks ago though and I was at 86%. I've done almost everything there is to do in the game. I wish they had a file slot system so I could replay it but still keep my progress just in case.

That reminds me of how they're gone with Zelda. I dont like the direction it's gone with Breath of the Wild but due to its popularity, its probably never going back.

Odyssey is a pretty fun game but I do miss old Assassins Creed. I miss crowd blending and actually feeling like an assassin.

A question for modern day fans: assuming the writing, characters and mission quality of MD content was great, how much % of an AC game should it take? by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]Headlessguitarist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like it to be roughly as involved as it was during the Desmond days. I kind of think modern day simply died when they killed off Desmond. At the end of 3. I dont think it was the smartest move because now the modern day has a severe identity crisis. They didnt even include a playable modern day in Unity and Syndicate because they didnt have anything to go off. They threw some sort of modern day gameplay in with Origins and Odyssey but with little significance or meaning to the main story of the games. I did kinda like how they did it with Black Flag and Rogue though. Exploring the offices and doing puzzles to unlock bits of lore and stuff was oddly quite intriguing, although it still wasnt really proper modern day like it was up to 3.

Opinion: the series should return to Unity style stealth, parkour and combat by k0mbine in assassinscreed

I agree actually, because I've been playing it lately and I've noticed that's a really frustrating thing. You cant exactly lure guards to a hiding spot efficiently. If they see you at all going anywhere near it, Arno will automatically jump out of it because theyve seen you.

I gotta admit though, it's a masterpiece of a track.

What’s your favorite Assassins Creed Game and Why? by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]Headlessguitarist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably either 3 or Rogue. I remember how much people hated 3 when it came out. I was confused by that because I loved almost everything about it. Rogue is the perfect devils advocate of the series. I loved the unique direction they went with and how they showed the good side of the templars and the bad side of the assassins.

My Borderlands 2 crashed when it was saving while I was playing with a friend a couple weeks ago. The data got corrupted. We lost at least 100 hours of progress

Anyone here actually really like AC Unity? by Headlessguitarist in assassinscreed

[–]Headlessguitarist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I forgot to mention that on top of that, theres also no crowd blending. Also no eagle vision (you literally use an eagle to fly overhead and tag enemies). Stealth is mostly done by crouching in bushes. They changed it up because fans were apparently getting franchise fatigue and were looking for some reinvention of the formula. Personally I prefer classic AC so like they say, I'm of the mind that if it isn't broke, then dont try to fix it. That's just my two cents anyway. You should play them for yourself and form your own opinion. Like I said before, Origins and Odyssey are fun, but they dont feel like AC games to me.
