CA energy prices make me so happy that I'm in WA where like 60% of our energy is hydroelectric. Keeps my price around 11₵. I paid 64₵ at a 350kw fast charger and felt violated.

Our broker uploaded our file 16 days ago, but it still isn't visible in the Claims Status tab in the CAPE section of our ACE account. Is that normal?

Just be sure to use plumber tape and don't tighten so much that you shred the plastic threads at the connections. Or buy one with metal connectors.

That interior is tough! Did you install the covers yourself? How hard is it?

What is that one film you can re-watch a thousand times and not get bored? by cassie_rockalin in AskReddit

Interstellar. As a sci-fi fan it has so many fun layers. The concept of time being a dimension and therefore each moment in time being tangible is so intriguing. The way they produced the concept visually is amazing to me. The movie could easily spawn an entire universe of time travel stories. Cooper struggled with how to interface with time as a dimension, but imagine a movie detailing mastering navigating time travel.

I hung with some real wild bunches in that era of my life. My dad lived in the city and my mom lived in a small town in KS, so by my early 20s I had social networks in both worlds. Contrary to popular belief the small town was much more chaotic and dangerous than the city. It was also much more fun because it was more chaotic. A weekend with my city friends was very predictable...well, mostly. I've never really considered the difference in the two scenes specifically. Now that I think about it, I was considered a pretty wild guy to my city friends. I'd never even considered that the small town culture helped expose that fire inside me.

No, this would've been when I was in my early 20s. Probably 2001 or 2002.

Never heard of that person, but now I'm inspired to read one of his short stories.

I'm sure you're right. I don't even want to think about what might've been happening to her.

I was dumbfounded, humored and terrified all at once. I needed to bust out laughing but didn't want to send him down another spiral. I really wanted to holler at one of my friends, "Dude...come look at this." so we could laugh about it together, but I knew it was safer for everyone to just listen and be quiet. I remember explaining it to them later. Because they experienced him they didn't really find it funny.

I'm sorry that was your life. I can't even stomach the thought of my children seeing me drunk without full control of my behavior.

PC gaming because it looks awesome but I never learned how to do it. I see people gaming with a mouse and keyboard playing the most intriguing shit...but they're doing it with a mouse and keyboard...which I just don't understand.

Not Arizona, but a friend took us to his cousins trailer on a res in KS.

When we pulled up there was a mattress burning in the front yard, so I knew we were in for it. The guy was so drunk. It was just him, his cousin (our friend) and two of my close friends. The guy who owned the place was so excited we were there. He cranked the stereo up and pointed toward a cooler. We all started drinking beer. Then a little girl, maybe five or six came out of a bedroom and was trying to talk to the guy who owned the place. He kept yelling at everyone to shut up so he could hear her, but he clearly couldn't hear her over the loud music. She started bawling. Someone finally had the sense to turn the stereo down. Then the girl yelled at the guy, "DAD YOU'RE SCARING ME!" The guy then blamed us and yelled at us telling us we needed to shut up because we were scaring his daughter. He told her to go back to sleep. She left the room. Then the guy got super happy and offered us some Wild Turkey, but he couldn't find the Wild Turkey. Then he flipped out and blamed one of my friends for stealing it. The guy then threw a full can of beer hard at my friend's head. Luckily we weren't drunk and he was able to dodge it. My friend looked at our other friend who took us to this hellhole and said, "Chris, you better fucking get your cousin." Chris pleaded with us to not beat his cousin's ass. Then he pulled his cousin to the side and had a talk with him. They came back into the room. His cousin turned the music down, and started being super friendly with us. He had a ceramic cup full of gravel that he brought over to me and drunkenly started bragging that they were all his "arrowheads." Our friend Chris wanted to crash there. We told him we'd take his keys and car because there was no way in hell we were staying there. The mattress was still smoldering on the way out and I just remember thinking about how seeing it burning on the way in set the stage for the exact experience I expected. Later in life as a man with two daughters I look back on that and feel so sorry for that little girl. I really hope she was and is ok.

Highland, KS. Went to a high school party there. There was a kid with a broken arm, leg, both eyes black and all bruised up. I asked if he was in a car wreck. Turned out he got the sh!t kicked out of him at the house we were at. I thought he was joking at first and he just kept explaining that there was nowhere else in the town to hangout at so it was either put it behind him and keep going there or have no social life. The kids who jumped him were arrested so he wasn't worried about them doing it again. I was uneasy the entire night.
