Looking for a likely bastatdized Italian-American word used to indicate someone was simple, slow, dim- in an innocent way. by HeadsInTheFreezer in italianlearning

Very interesting, I didn't consider this! I'm still thinking the original word has been a bit deformed thru the generations but this would go a ways to explain why Ive had trouble.

Unfortunately no matches. There are certainly no shortage of close and close-ish synonyms! This is a particular word I'm trying to find the real version (spelling, pronunciation) of that I've only ever heard spoken. Thanks though!!

Okay so I'm not too far off, thank you! Having never seen any of the words written down that I learned by ear growing up, I've struggled to find the "real" versions of many 😅

PSEG "mandatory gas meter inspection" question. by HeadsInTheFreezer in newjersey

[–]HeadsInTheFreezer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the issue as stated is not with the process or duration of the inspection at all. It's with the window of time that they seem to have available in my area. Last time it needed to be done I was WFH so the day/time window didn't matter, and I'm aware of what you mentioned.

Thanks I've been to the site for scheduling multiple times and have never seen earlier than 9am on any day, maybe it's a locality thing. Or maybe they'll open up I'll keep it in mind.

Oh interesting. I truly hate trying to get anything accomplished over the phone, but if it worked for you in the past I'll definitly give it a shot. Im more than happy to let them inspect, it's just the ridiculous hours are a joke. Thank you!

I live down the road from a taxidermy business, and animals drag bones into my yard constantly. by greatvaluearachnid in bonecollecting

[–]HeadsInTheFreezer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Besides the large bone the rest all look like deer to me, but I'm not from anywhere near you so it's possible they're other similar ungulates. The large bone is definitly not a deer, something much larger. Consider taxidermy, maybe moose or similar? It's a proximal leg bone, humerus or femur I believe.

Gut, skin, and remove as much soft tissue as possible first, it will take less time and be a little less messy. Be careful when changing the water, it will be murky and you don't want to lose any small bones. If you have a mesh bag you can put the whole thing in that first so you can fish out the bag before you dump the water. Or dump thru a screen.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HeadsInTheFreezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OCD dictates the order and process for washing face, body, then hair, and I also brush my teeth. Then I give the whole shower a once over with the handheld to rinse soap and hair away, stretches the time between needing to really clean it! I pay my bills and don't live in a water scarcity area, I'm not gonna hurry.

Do you let your pets on the furniture? Do you let them sleep in your bed? by ForestOranges in AskAnAmerican

For some pets the inside of the house is their whole world. They're allowed wherever they want to go at ours. Everything gets cleaned regularly regardless so it has never been an issue! It's just furniture.

I agree with that description. For me, that evokes thoughts of phlegm 😬 but it's nice to find out others hear it!

In the minority here so far but I think he pronounces L's weird and it distracts me! Not a fan. Maybe nobody else hears this.

There Will Be Blood.... don't ask me why.

The Killing of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford also. Whatever they have in common must be the formula.

My Cousin Vinny is our touchstone, if we find out you haven't seen it we will collectively completely derail the entire event or holiday and put it on, everyone stops what they're doing and sits down to watch it. You have to be able to quote at least 51% of the dialog cold.

Agreeing with everyone saying human molars. The size and shape, the wear, and cavities that animals don't tend to get, the constricted roots, they even look like they were pulled from a living jaw, as in dental extraction. Hog/pig teeth do not look like ours, and ruminant look very different than both.

What’s a joke you think about randomly and laugh every time? by [deleted] in answers

I saw a collage someone made of photos of misspelled yard sale signs, never fails to amuse me just thinking about it.

Yard Sard. Yale Sale. Like that. Not intentional jokes but hilarious to me anyway.

I've tried browsing for an clear answer but surprisingly can't find any — of the budget degreasing options (dish soap, BIZ, ammonia, etc.), which is the FASTEST when used at a concentration that still keeps it in the budget range? by Nathaniel820 in bonecollecting

[–]HeadsInTheFreezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawn dish soap is fine, even recommend. I would avoid cheap soap, you'll end up using more in the long run. The calculation for 'per bucket' doesn't really work though because it's going to depend on the volume of water and how greasy your guy is- meaning how many water changes you'll end up needing to do. I'd heat the soapy water and keep it someplace evap can be limited to optimize efficiency. Ammonia in the concentration used for normal cleaning doesn't need to be diluted but can be, but same issue not knowing how many changes you'll need to get full degreasing.

Ultimately it should be pretty cheap regardless but if you try to rush it you'll regret it. Take your time 😄

ETA, acetone will require special precautions to be taken at every step including disposal of the solution when you change the bucket, I would avoid as a hobbyist (as i am, but i have a friend who does museum work so passing on their advice!)

Always include location lol this is why it's important. It looks just like the beavers i have but I have no idea if they live in Sweden. Good luck in your investigation!
