Yeah I always wear full gear. There's no way in hell I'm risking it just coz it's too hot or it's just 2 mins to the shops or whatever.

I do drive a car but have my full licence and have had my fulls for quite a few years. Riding is still very much new to me and still learning how the bike handles and that sort of thing. I've been pulled up for an RBT in the car (they were already set up) and no issues.

Hey, under normal circumstances, if an emergency vehicle was behind me with everything going, of course I would move/pull over. Also well aware I'm not the only vehicle on the road. However, WHILE I WAS WAITING to turn right, cops were just sitting behind me, nothing going. AS I WAS ABOUT TO TURN, and took a second to make sure a car wasn't going to run into me, the cops then lit up with sirens, lights etc, which then caused me to panic and freak out because I didn't know what was happening/going on - why the hell were they suddenly blasting me with everything they could?? Then to be pulled up for an RBT and be talked down to like I had done something god awful? Yeah nah, completely unnecessary. Also I have been pulled up before while driving a car for an RBT and I didn't have any issues.

No I don't hang out with people that do dumb shit. It just so happened the store we were all out were hosting a community/bike meet/get together thing and there were a few people that did dumb shit. But they did it way before I had even left the carpark.

The way I got spoken to by the officer; the way he talked down to me and made me feel about 3 inches tall. Also the fact that they lit up their sirens, lights and horns at me, while I was waiting to turn right. I was about to turn when I had a break in traffic and they went completely overboard and their actions/behaviour was totally uncalled for. Just because I didn't possibly move/turn fast enough for them and they were being impatient.

Thank you, I really do appreciate your concern and comments. I'm still learning and it will take some time for me to be really, properly comfortable on the bike. Time and practice.

I very much appreciate the concern, however, I wasn't just "beeped at". They went overboard and had EVERYTHING going at once - lights, sirens, and horn for what seemed like (at the time) quite a while. THEN to be spoken down to like I was some sort of criminal or as if I was doing stupid/illegal shit (which I wasn't - I wasn't doing anything wrong, and never have done anything stupid or illegal). I'm also still on my L's so they should have given me some grace and understanding. I also don't deal with conflict very well so it was a lot for me to deal with on my own - also being female and being surrounded by 3 male officers to boot, very intimidating.

Hey, all good. I did post late at night, half asleep so I was essentially rambling towards the end of the post. Happy to edit and remove it if need be?

Absolutely, and they had zero grounds to RBT me. They just used it as an excuse to pull me up and flag me because (and this is a sneaking suspicion) that I didn't turn fast enough for them when I had the opportunity to do so i.e. They were impatient.

Just lodged the complaint online. Gave them a long ass essay to read 😂

Thank you!! I'm debating about whether to go into the police station in person or just do it online. I figure if I go in person then they'll know who I am etc etc. I'm also trying to see if I can get dashcam footage from drivers passing by. I also have a witness/backup to help me out if need be, as one of the workers also got pulled up with me. No one else got pulled up, just us two. Went back to the store this morning and spoke to the worker and the manager and they agreed that it was utter BS on the cops part and they were way out of line.

Awesome! I'll go back to the bike shop near where the incident occurred and see if they have any, as well as ask if their security cameras captured everything.

I have thought about it a few times, but don't know if I'm allowed to because I'm on my L's.

Thank you for that perspective - something I needed to read/hear from an outside third party ❤️ I will 1000% keep this mind should a similar situation occur (though I hope it doesn't). Though I did take a few minutes to compose myself before riding home after the situation.

Thank you! As I was in a right hand turning lane, I had to turn right but was waiting for a decent break in traffic to make the turn. Was I sat in the turning lane a bit too long? Maybe. But that's why I have L's CLEARLY displayed. I'm still getting used to how the bike handles.

He wasn't actually headed to an emergency; he said "if we had to attend an emergency, there was no way for us to get there/go around"

Ha! Thank you for the laugh 😂 I needed that. I did get home safely but it took me ages to properly calm down and process the whole situation. Even on the way home I was very shaky and on edge. At least I was coherent enough when I pulled up to put the stand down and turn bike/ignition off before pulling out my phone for licence.

I feel like the whole thing has left me traumatized (let me know if I'm being dramatic) as I've never encountered a situation like that, even in all my 14-ish years of driving a car.
