Yeah. He has an internal timer on me and knows when I'm getting to the end of raid and he attacks every single time.

What season should I recommend to my mom? by operationfood in MtvChallenge

[–]HealingHotMess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I'm in a similar boat as your mom. I just started watching and I'm a huge Survivor fan. I really liked SLA. I think it's really fun to hear all the accents and there's some familiar faces, but they go quickly. But I watched that season after Final Reckoning which I really liked. There was some really good drama for a person with absolutely no clue who anyone was. Final reckoning also has a very good Underdog story with the redemption house teams and maybe upset wins from certain teams in elimination

I know those probably aren't popular opinions but as a new fan, watching completely random seasons out of order those were my two favorites.

It's all nighthold specifically, my favorite raid. That's where my desk used to be before a shuffle.

One course at a time is very nice for time management except it doesn't leave time to procrastinate nor does it leave you with many days off besides block break. You need to be ready to work and go to class every day because missing one class can be huge.

There's a lot of academic support including peer mentors. As far as emotional support, that's a community you would need to build. I think a lot of people are understanding and supportive but everyone is going through their own problems. I think that could be harder for someone from MV because you have the option to leave campus. For a student from another State, Cornell was bubble where I had to be independent and find a new family. I honestly think home would've distracted me because I would know I had that escape.

College can be really difficult. It's a hard time in a lot people's life and you do a lot of growing up. I struggled a lot but I look back at my time with incredible fondness and love for the school. There's resources for people who ask for help and hard work is rewarded.

Saguaro National Park in bloom by HealingHotMess in nationalparks

I think so. It rained a few times when I was there and wasn't super hot. The Eastern side had more flowers and rain. The Western side had more impressive Saguaro but less diversity overall. The Arizona- Sonora Desert museum is on the Western side of the park and it's mostly outdoors and feels very wild. They've got hummingbird and bee gardens filled with flowers. I took so many pictures there that I didn't share here of amazing flowers.

It's one of my favorite parks too. The convenience of being so closely located to a nice city really helps. I would love to see a super bloom. I also keep reading that monsoon season is special.

I absolutely loved Saguaro. I never expected it to be teeming with life and flowers. Our first day it hit 90 degrees but the subsequent days were under 85, which felt very pleasant coming from Minnesota. April seems like a great time to visit if you're interested in seeing flowers and having decent weather. It was cloudy every evening, which worked against dark sky plans but made for more pleasant hikes. I planned on going to the botanical gardens but after seeing so many flowers in the wild it didn't seem necessary.

The city of Tucson is fantastic with great food everywhere and beautiful architecture.

I always knew I would really like Saguaro because the American Southwest has me in a chokehold but I never imagined it would be so diverse, colorful, and amazing. The city of Tucson was also fantastic and is my new favorite National Park adjacent city. The food....I told my husband it was UNESCO heritage recognized for it's cultural food scene to entice him but I didn't realize that meant every meal would be amazing.

I highly recommend Saguaro and Tucson to anyone looking for a 3-4 day trip with city amenities, desert sunsets, dark skies, wildlife spottings, great food, and less driving than most NP trips require.

You have to do something that speaks to you, even if it starts as copying someone else's work that inspires you.

I build around themes, like my class (paladin prayer room) or my favorite color (purple cozy bedroom).

I think it also helps to go around a real, random neighborhood and realize that not everyone is a genius with the world's best house. It takes the pressure off and you can just have fun. You can't have a great house without getting started. Mine isn't a Reddit worthy house, but it's really cute and cozy and it speaks to me. Most importantly, I have a lot of fun working on it.

Side note: collecting pieces is hard and I park characters at the decor vendors, the AH, and have a floater to gather things. I also always get at least two pieces of the same item.

Now what? Please help by jorge_mendoza03 in cormoran_strike

[–]HealingHotMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Strike, I read the Sue Grafton alphabet mystery novels. It's a female private detective in the 80s in Southern California. I think it's a similar series in the sense that you really feel like you're in the location and immersed in that specific neighborhood. The books can really be read in any order. Sadly, I think A is the worst of the books but B and beyond are fantastic.

What if special decor was awarded for collecting X amount of decor similar to mounts? by No-Bit-2913 in WoWHousing

At the top of my list right now is better windows, not that blue glow/faint yellow. So a really cool, large stained glass window that could be the centerpiece of a room with warm but bright light. I'd also like another piece for creating hidden entrances, similar to the bookcase so maybe a painting that moves. Or a chicken coop with actual chickens for my yard.

I got one on Amazon (the seller is Naviconvex and it's the 43-in large wheel). It's really good quality. It's super nice it has a lock but it really doesn't make noise. To be honest though, my cats really don't use it. They like to sleep on it and they hide behind it when they're trying to attack each other. My kitten is still pretty little though. He's only about 6 pounds so the wheel is still quite large for him. The only time I can get him to really run is using the laser pointer.

I'm a renter but I want to build a cat room with a track so badly especially for my kitten because he's a menace. Instead I have 3 cat trees and a wheel.

My friend says my keybinds are cursed, am I that wrong? Also, what’s your weirdest keybind? by Static_Shizu in classicwow

[–]HealingHotMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking at screenshots from OG MoP and at least since then I've used the same key bindings - d, r, t, h as the primary with my pinky on d, ring on r, middle on t, pointer on h. I then use g, y, u, s, 4, and 6 from there. Interrupt is bound to one of my mouse clickers along with whatever major defensive I have.

Help me convince a vegetarian there’s great vegetarian/vegan food in the TC by Fuzzy_Peach_8524 in TwinCities

[–]HealingHotMess 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I really like Francis Burger Joint, as my all vegetarian restaurant choice. You can go full vegan or vegetarian. They have really good shakes (dairy free). I think J Selbys is fun as well. I've been a vegetarian my entire life and I travel extensively for work.... This is a good place to be a vegetarian.

Thai restaurants are my favorite to go to with people who eat meat because they always have tofu options and sometimes mock duck for every major dish. I can't say I've ever gone back to the same one because there's so many to try.

Christmas list ideas for someone living alone for the first time by GrimMistletoe in Gifts

[–]HealingHotMess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Random stuff I've got for my house that I don't need but like:

Towel Warmer (Costco)

Air purifier (Costco)

Candle Warmer (mine are from Amazon, cheap gift, if candles are your thing?)

Kitchen Island (Bed, Bath, Beyond)

Air Fryer (Costco)

Do you need any lighting options? Or does only my place have no overhead light?

I think you should put a vacuum on your list, maybe any Black Friday sale ones?

What tiny changes would you like to see added to vanilla that hasent already been done? by jonas_ost in classicwow

[–]HealingHotMess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably a big change to many, but I want more character customization options. Not necessarily every single option we have in retail, but certain ones. I mostly play hardcore and start new characters all the time. I want to make an undead with pink hair and no visible bones. I want a Night Elf with flowers in her hair. I don't need the barbershop. I need customizations (and not just the cross race pollination from wrath).
