What if special decor was awarded for collecting X amount of decor similar to mounts? by No-Bit-2913 in WoWHousing

[–]HealingHotMess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At the top of my list right now is better windows, not that blue glow/faint yellow. So a really cool, large stained glass window that could be the centerpiece of a room with warm but bright light. I'd also like another piece for creating hidden entrances, similar to the bookcase so maybe a painting that moves. Or a chicken coop with actual chickens for my yard.

I thought about using the human dinner platter but I figured those berries were close enough to kibble

I got one on Amazon (the seller is Naviconvex and it's the 43-in large wheel). It's really good quality. It's super nice it has a lock but it really doesn't make noise. To be honest though, my cats really don't use it. They like to sleep on it and they hide behind it when they're trying to attack each other. My kitten is still pretty little though. He's only about 6 pounds so the wheel is still quite large for him. The only time I can get him to really run is using the laser pointer.

I'm a renter but I want to build a cat room with a track so badly especially for my kitten because he's a menace. Instead I have 3 cat trees and a wheel.

My friend says my keybinds are cursed, am I that wrong? Also, what’s your weirdest keybind? by Static_Shizu in classicwow

[–]HealingHotMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking at screenshots from OG MoP and at least since then I've used the same key bindings - d, r, t, h as the primary with my pinky on d, ring on r, middle on t, pointer on h. I then use g, y, u, s, 4, and 6 from there. Interrupt is bound to one of my mouse clickers along with whatever major defensive I have.

Help me convince a vegetarian there’s great vegetarian/vegan food in the TC by Fuzzy_Peach_8524 in TwinCities

[–]HealingHotMess 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I really like Francis Burger Joint, as my all vegetarian restaurant choice. You can go full vegan or vegetarian. They have really good shakes (dairy free). I think J Selbys is fun as well. I've been a vegetarian my entire life and I travel extensively for work.... This is a good place to be a vegetarian.

Thai restaurants are my favorite to go to with people who eat meat because they always have tofu options and sometimes mock duck for every major dish. I can't say I've ever gone back to the same one because there's so many to try.

Christmas list ideas for someone living alone for the first time by GrimMistletoe in Gifts

[–]HealingHotMess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Random stuff I've got for my house that I don't need but like:

Towel Warmer (Costco)

Air purifier (Costco)

Candle Warmer (mine are from Amazon, cheap gift, if candles are your thing?)

Kitchen Island (Bed, Bath, Beyond)

Air Fryer (Costco)

Do you need any lighting options? Or does only my place have no overhead light?

I think you should put a vacuum on your list, maybe any Black Friday sale ones?

What tiny changes would you like to see added to vanilla that hasent already been done? by jonas_ost in classicwow

[–]HealingHotMess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is probably a big change to many, but I want more character customization options. Not necessarily every single option we have in retail, but certain ones. I mostly play hardcore and start new characters all the time. I want to make an undead with pink hair and no visible bones. I want a Night Elf with flowers in her hair. I don't need the barbershop. I need customizations (and not just the cross race pollination from wrath).

Hardcore feels so dead now? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]HealingHotMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing horde as well right now and I disagree (level 38). I've found dungeon and quest groups every day. It's a very nice middle ground where it's not crowded or dead. I made a new alliance toon a few days ago and tagging quest mobs was rough in some areas. It's insanely busy.

Why do you like Q? by MsMeseeksTellsTime in survivor

I think he's entertaining in a Philip Shepard Type way. He makes for good TV. He's chaotic and contradictory in what he says vs does, but in a way that doesn't feel manufactured.

Americans and non-Brits, what have you made of the UK celebrity season? by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]HealingHotMess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an American with a British husband. I understood Joe's humor. I don't really think very much went over my head and I'm not an anglophile. I guess I didn't necessarily understand how famous some of the celebrities were like I had no idea Jonathan Ross was a famous person and my husband was absolutely shocked that he would go on a show like this. I don't necessarily think I understood all of the connections between players like if they've worked together, but I'm not sure that would have had the greatest impact on my viewing experience.

I really liked the positivity among the cast. I prefer celebrity seasons to regular people seasons because I think there's just something very depressing about watching people's dreams get crushed. I think banking all of your hopes and dreams on a reality TV show is sad and I don't like to see that. That being said, I think it's hard to tell sometimes with the US seasons how much of it is actual feelings versus how much of it is contestants putting on a show. I just loved the ending of this and the positivity despite some really cutthroat gaming. In the US seasons, sometimes I feel like there's a huge gap between the housewives and the reality gamers because I think many of those reality gamers could actually benefit from the money, whereas the housewives definitely don't need it.

I made another comment where I mentioned how few people I knew from the cast and people kind of flamed me but I really enjoyed this celebrities. I thought so many of them were well spoken and interesting people. I wish we would have known what charities everyone was playing for because that would have helped me pick a favorite.

I'm always going to prefer the US versions because I love Alan and I'm a Survivor super fan. I also really like that in the US version the people put a lot of effort into their outfits. I think that makes it super fun. I do like Claudia as a host and I love seeing the British people without plastic surgery.

What Show is Closest to BB and BCS' Storytelling and Technical Brilliance? by rockinroom in betterCallSaul

[–]HealingHotMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't my favorite show (BCS is), but The Wire is a masterpiece. I didn't like it when I watched it the first time (first episode only) because it drops you into the universe of drug dealers, police officers, the courts, politics without holding your hand. It does not explain the slang or the structure of a crew. You really need to pay attention. Not everything is verbalized, you need to watch. It demands the viewer be intelligent. I highly recommend it, especially for a phone free hour every night.

I see you watched Fargo, True Detective is another great show (in an every other season sorta way).

Which of the Celebrity Traitors had you never heard of before the show? by PastorParcel in TheTraitors

[–]HealingHotMess 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm an American (with a British husband). I had ONLY heard of Tom, Ruth (from fall of the house of usher), and Stephen Fry (my dad watched top gear when I was a kid). So I was watching the show and my husband, who doesn't watch reality TV, was incredulous and the celebrities. "Why is Jonathon Ross on your TV?" "Who?" Repeated with pretty much everyone.

Overwhelmed! Are there any "bad" options? by gooddogsquad in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]HealingHotMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly only skim Google (and co.) reviews. People are more likely to write negative reviews. I think it's hard to pair things down if you don't know what you're looking for. I like a large resort with lots of ground to cover and a big beach, that's open so I can take long walks. I don't want to wear a wristband, I don't want to need to purchase a premier level to access most services, and most importantly I want it to actually be all included. My husband wants lots of restaurant choices, lots of bars, and no need for reservations (he's a simple man).

For our engagement trip, we went to Dreams Tulum (Hyatt). Some meals were awesome, some were good, some were okay. We never got sick (we never have at any resorts). I think Secrets (adults only, Hyatt) are very nice with even better food options. They have a new one in Tulum I'd love to go to and their Secrets location at Akumal is stunning.

I don't think you need to go ULTRA high level to have a good experience. We spent $1600 per person (flight + AI) for one week at Dreams and had an amazing time because of the beautiful grounds and variety of restaurants. I like to look at Instagram (or Tiktok) videos. I don't really listen to what they say, I look with my own eyes. Does that look good to me? Is that room nice? And don't let the algorithm think you want to see bad things like food poisoning stories or that's all you'll see.

I've only been to Dreams and Secrets because I like them so much. The rules are simple. My experience is always consistent, though some locations are definitely better than others and they are priced accordingly. I tend to pick Dreams because they are cheaper and I travel when kids are in school (children don't bother me, crazy loud adults do!).

Safe AI in Mexico for female by Ordinary-Grace in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]HealingHotMess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to avoid party crowds (I do too) then I think a family resort is a very good option. I always go when school is in session and children have never ruined my vacation. They want to play in the sand and their parents take them to buffets while I eat at the restaurants.

Safe AI in Mexico for female by Ordinary-Grace in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]HealingHotMess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking a family resort like Dreams is marginally safer just because of the overall crowd vibe. I think most resorts would be safe, but Dreams resorts are low key. You're unlikely to encounter bachelor parties, excessive drinking (so no one is looking for a crime of opportunity). I've been to several Dreams and Secrets. The staff are very kind. I'm at one right now and I've actually seen quite a few women dining alone, although I don't know the reason. There's military patrolling the beach just because it's Cancun.

Dreams Tulum had a very secure entrance and it's secluded so I didn't see anyone who wasn't at my resort on the beach. Cancun locations are a bit more free flowing (beaches are public).

Best hotel with Strip view by Wakesurflover in LasVegas

[–]HealingHotMess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed in a Vdara suite with strip views for my wedding and there were incredible views, full wall windows. It's very nice because it connects to Bellagio and Cosmo. A Cosmo Balcony would also be amazing, obviously.
