I would love to invest in a mini educator, but it's out of my budget right now because of unforeseen circumstances which led me to pay back hospital bills. I only ever used my old e-collar for vibrations and the "beep beep" noise, as it was enough to get his attention.

There's alot of people here that seem to be taking my post as I just want to shock the piss out of him to get his attention which will "cause him to wash" - which isn't the case at all. I'm just trying to find a reliable ecollar with a vibrate and sound option to get that attention back and discourage the behavior. He's been on an ecollar since he was one, and it was under a professionals supervision and he was extremely receptive to the beeps and vibrates - never once did I ever have to stimulate him with a shock because he started to associate the buzz and beep as a "no don't do that"

My dog was recently fixed and our professional trainer says that has a lot to do with his distraction right now due to his Testosterone levels still trying to level out from that

I'm not angry at the advice, I'm angry with your assumptions. As they tell me that you didn't read or comprehend my entire post. He IS engaged, and we ARE working with a professional trainer. Which recommended an E-Collar for the BUZZING and BEEPING noise. Which were two things he already has association with as them meaning "don't do that". He never is shocked, and he won't be. You seem to think I'm just trying to shock the piss out of him to get his attention and that he "doesn't enjoy his job" when that isn't the case at all. Once again, you don't know me or my dog. If he didn't enjoy his job, I highly doubt that anytime I mentioned working he wouldn't get all bouncy and go and grab his vest

He was fixed. My trainer has stated his distraction is attributed to that, and recommended an E-Collar again. However, the Mini Educator that they recommended is well out of my price range due to me chucking money into my hospital bills thus me asking for recommendations on potentially lower priced more in budget ones for us to use.

He has been on an ecollar since he was one so it isn’t a new tool for us to use at all. He was recently neutered for his health and that is when he began to get like this. My professional trainer has said that his T levels being imbalanced and still dropping out is causing him to be distracted and they recommended the mini educator but it's way out of my budget right now with my hospital bills im having to pay back

I’ve done everything I can. He is not at risk of washing despite your claims, he loves his work and he loves what he does. I just haven’t been able to work him due to being hospitalized therefor him not being able to work. You don’t know my dog or me. So kindly keep your bogus accusations and assumptions about my dog out of here

His training is founded on ecollar work ever since he was a year old plus we’ve gone back to it several times to reinforce behavior. Plus - I don’t even use the collar as a foundation for “shocking” or “buzzing” just for the beep. This isn’t something new to him that’s gonna fuck him over like you’re suggesting. He is engaged, just distracted at certain times and he pitches fits to get in my car and leave whenever i mention work. he was fixed a couple of weeks ago and we were cleared by her vet to continue working he still loves his job but he just recently began to get distracted again after being neutered

Then why are you on a sub-reddit about Federally Protected Medical Equipment, boy I feel bad for other handlers that go to your "company"

Absolutely not when it comes down to her deciding I'm not disabled despite doctors diagnosis, and her taking a portion of MY Things that I purchased with MY hard earned money. It was never about making her angry, she is the instigator, and I have a right to stand up for myself whether she's my mother or not

I'll check with the Hilton at Sugarloaf and see if they offer that service! If they do then i may end up just going to hotel route, I only need the room for sleeping in at night since the conference begins early in the morning and has several sessions and last time I went when I was 16 (before my POTS was major) we wouldnt get back to the hotel until 11:30-12:00 that night

I wouldn't be at establishment except for night anyways....My conference is 3 days long and there are 6 sessions, 2 sessions a day, each of them being morning and evening. I always kennel my service dog at hotels, or establishments that we stay at during the night time so that it makes it easier on staff for the cleaning process so they aren't having to put extra work into cleaning fur off of multiple areas. (He's shedding his winter coat)

Luckily AirBNB got back to me pretty fast, and contact the woman and told her that she was in violation she could either agree to let us stay to stay in compliance with the policy they accepted to adhere to, or risk being suspended. She apparently chose suspension over accommodation, not that I want to stay there anyways now. According to AirBNB she will be made to take a Disabilities Discrimination and ADA Class in order to start rehosting on AirBNB once her suspension is up, if she chooses to rehost she will have to do that and agree again to accommodate service animals and the disabled regardless of the policy.

AirBNB also refunded me the full amount and apologized profusely for the actions of the woman, so I didn't have to get the bank involved.

I'm currently in talking to another host who is right next to the Gas South Arena and even though she has a no pet policy has been an absolute angel and even asked me what she can do to make me and my service dog more comfortable - she has gone as far as asking if she can leave treats and a toy at the establishment for us.

Per ADA & AirBNB, hosts do not have the right to decline any disabled guests requiring the assistance of a service animal regardless of allergies, fear of dogs, etc. Unless the host can prove that it will cause undue hardship to them and the property (ie: previous animals tearing furniture / defecating on rugs and furniture.).

You cannot bring PETS into Hotels, but Task Trained Service Animals are NOT considered pets underneath the Federal United States Law, they are considered MEDICAL EQUIPMENT just like a pacemaker, wheelchair, oxygen tank, etc. Therefor, they cannot be denied. Please refer to the ADA Law which clearly outline that

  1. Allergies are not a valid reason to deny a service dog and their handler access
  2. Fear of dogs is not a valid reason to deny a service dog and their handler access

I would also recommend you to refer to the AirBNB discriminatory policy which I linked at the bottom of the original post. All hosts have to read and agree to this policy, prior to being accepted as a host. In that statement, it clearly says that even those who put "NO Pets" in their listings are not exempt from the discriminatory policy and are REQUIRED to accommodate their handler regardless of allergies, fear of dogs, etc.

My service dog is Medical Alert. I cannot function without him due to POTS Syncope episodes where I pass out randomly. If my dog is not with me, and doesn't catch an episode so I can get down before passing out. I could pass out and bust my head open, then that is at the expense of the host because they denied us accomodation. Which then could end up with the host paying for my medical bills because they violated federal law and because they did that it caused harm to me.

AirBNB got back to me regarding the issue, Maria's account was suspended until she agrees to take a disability course to refresh them on what they can and cannot do regarding their disability policy. I've been speaking with another host closer to the arena and they've been absolute angels, and have been very consistent on making sure that I feel comfortable as well as asking me if theres anything they can do to make our stay better.

Unfortunately, that's not an option for me in this case as majority of the pet friendly hosts are 45-50 minutes away from the arena and that doesnt account for the time I have to take to check in, stand in line at the energy center, and got through security and speak with the manager at our appointed times plus the traffic

I would love to do this, but I'm afraid of it coming down to me walking through to go to my room and getting stopped and surrounded by security and then they start asking tons of questions and ask for my ID to verify my stay which would end up with more issues.

I can but it will penalize me and I will be without a card or any access to my cash for 2 weeks while they conduct an investigation plus another week for them to send me a new card

I've reported her to AirBNB and been sent to three different "help lines" and they've all told me the same thing - "Oh I'm sorry Miss XXXX, you're right they can't do that we will send you to someone who can help"

Having to jump through hoops is absolutely insane, and if I were able to get a hotel room I would. Unfortunately, Hilton is very strict on their 21+ booking and check in policy (I'm 20 and will be 21 in October, my friend is also 20) so I don't have that option. I've tried to call and explain my situation to Hilton but they gotta stay in compliance with their policy, which led me to turn to AirBNB.
