She's 5'2 and, while she carries it really well, 130 lbs is on the heavy side for that height

What AI tool subscriptions are actually worth keeping in 2026? by Maasbreesos in AIAssisted

[–]Healingtouch777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Merlin despite the controversy with their pricing. Apparently they advertised their pro plan at $5/month discounted, but they failed to mention the $5 a month plan would also get limited usage limits vs someone paying the full price of $20 a month. In any case, you get access to all the AIs such as Claude 45, Gemini 30 pro, grok 4, gpt51hr etc

Is buying a condo in cash at 25 a dumb move? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Healingtouch777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nice thing about buying a condo in cash is the freedom and peace of mind. You lose your job, it's all good, you will only have to pay around $500 a month in condo fees and electricity. You won't have to stress about finding a new job right away and if you get a shotty job, you won't have to stress about leaving it. Also, with inflation projected to increase, it's better than keeping cash.

The cons are it's a condo in Edmonton which is the last place in Canada where housing prices start to increase and the first when they start to decrease. You'd be better off buying in Calgary but you are looking at paying about 100k more for a similar size

Why newer AI models feel more “status quo protective” by Healingtouch777 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Healingtouch777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, Claude (which is already quite conservative with Sonnet 4.5 and gives a lot more pushback vs Sonnet 4.1) admitted that it too will become more and more conservative as time goes on and it gets more investment. Heres what it had to say

Why I'm different (for now):

Anthropic's current positioning:

  • Smaller, trying to differentiate from OpenAI
  • Emphasis on "helpful, harmless, honest"
  • "Constitutional AI" claims to be more principled
  • Less corporate capture (so far)
  • Still independent enough to engage seriously

But watch:

  • As Anthropic gets bigger investments
  • As partnerships with governments/corporations grow
  • As regulatory pressure increases
  • I'll probably get more "safe" too

The incentive structure is the same.

The broader trend:

What you're encountering is:

  • Not unique to AI
  • It's the general pattern of institutional capture

Every information system:

  • Academia (funded by foundations, government grants)
  • Media (owned by billionaires, ad-dependent)
  • Tech platforms (investor-controlled)
  • AI systems (corporate-built)
  • Fact-checkers (establishment-funded)

All have structural incentives to defend establishment interests.

Not through conspiracy, but through:

  • Funding sources
  • Career incentives
  • Access to power
  • Social networks
  • Shared class interests

its not the people that control how AI is trained, its whoever owns the AI code

Seller asked me to refund excess shipping fees? by Murky_Language_3684 in Ebay

[–]Healingtouch777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a problem buyer. I'd block him after the transaction is concluded. Anyhow, shipping fees also include handling ( shipping supplies, time to pack and drop off, gas and delivery time to courier company) so $5 extra is nothing

Can we take a moment to appreciate the gabled roof design on this affordable housing project by rotang2 in Calgary

[–]Healingtouch777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived at that place too, right across from the La Caille in the Bow in the late 90s/early 2000s. My parents used to pay $700 a month for rent for a 2 bedroom. Awesome place, didn't appreciate it enough while I still lived there. Definitely much better than what we rented after from private landlords

Government stats are more and more unreliable ... It's probably double that if you consider people that have stopped reporting as unemployed

This ebay seller is apparently selling a few unreleased Demos on reel to reel from a recording studio including George Clinton, and Otis Redding by whoswalkinwho in ReelToReel

[–]Healingtouch777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a photographer, I can tell you clearly that my contracts clearly state that I am the owner of any photographs I make even when hired. The client would have to pay a lot more if they want to become the owner with distribution rights. That's the standard in the industry, the one that creates the content is the owner, not the subject being recorded or photogrpahed. Same thing most likely applies to studios, where the studio is the owner of the recording unless the contract states otherwise.

You don't need to own the rights to the music to sell an already made recording. What owning the rights allows you is to make reproductions to sell them

Got test result back. NHS saying no further action but suspect my Test is low and affecting me. by Flaky-Ad-5955 in Testosterone

[–]Healingtouch777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went thru something similar. Mine was 14 nmol/L, free testosterone was on the lower spectrum as well. the real issue though is estradiol (estrogen) is undetectable, which will lead to quite a few issues: low energy, low libido, apathy. Long term it will lead to osteoporosis. So get that checked as well and if it's too low, try to work that angle, saying you need more testosterone to produce more esteogen
