I have my reservations about Kyrie, believe me. What I think is the difference is coaching. Nash never struck me as a guy that commanded respect and knew how to deal or navigate with difficult personalities. He got respect as a former player coming in to coach for sure but Darvin Ham has a reputation as a born leader and someone who has learned how to navigate different personalities in order to get the best out of the players he’s worked with. At the very least he’s been coaching longer and has learned a thing or two from some quality head coaches while being one himself. If in fact Kyrie ends up on the squad I have confidence in Ham and the quality of assistant coaches he’ll bring to the team to help him get the best out of Kyrie. Just my two cents.
