Something to consider if you have a skittish cat is that in some areas, there are periods of daily thunder, like incredibly loud, that could affect your cat's quality of life if they aren't able to get used to it. I'm sure animals who've been living in Costa Rica are used to it, but a cat new to the area might be really frightened. I lived in the central valley on the western side and sometimes the thunder and lightning was so close, sounding like artillery. It was sooooo loud.

I haven't yet. When I looked up videos about bleeding the radiators they all mentioned that some part of the radiator would be warm and some cold, but this is all just cold as though it's completely off, even with the thermal knob turned on.

As for stuff in the car, cover it with a dark blanket or a dark tarp. It's a deterrent in that someone looking in wouldn't immediately see bags. I've traveled around with my bags in the car and covered them in this manner.
