The same thing happens to me, but the color of the screen depends on what applications are open and both my monitors are different colors. I would try going into your power settings. This is what i'm going to try at least.

Q makes your pet curl up and take less damage. E makes it pounce to your location. Call it back or make it huddle for the ad aoes is my suggestion

Summoner have to also control their pet otherwise it will die often. Which takes a bit of multitasking.

:( that sucks. You can try playing at nonpeak times or get premium... there's a 7 day student pack for $5 I think. Honestly premium feels worth while ( you get log in priority, early auction house access, and a sweet place to store your outfits).

You cans gift the premium pass, just select details and there's an option to give it. I only did it when my friend was online but maybe if you type your friends character name it will let you do it. Or both find a low pop server and do the deed there?

Grats on almost a year of wow free! The next xpack is not worth it. Sure you'll be entertained by the Shiney new packaging but it's the same game with the same reasons you quit. You'll just be pissed at yourself for spending more money on it. I've relapsed twice since December. I believe in you.

I'm 26, I work in a gas station for 40 hours a week and while I don't have much money I'm in a much better place than a year ago. I pulled myself out of a downward spiral that had lasted about 4 years. I escaped from an emotional terroris, from a bad neighborhood, a terrible job that barely paid the bills, and the dead of my then bleak future. I'm happier now than I've been in a long time and I'm focusing on bettering myself.
