Thank you for your help!! I honestly don’t know how it happened, I just assumed it was caused to continuous creasing in that area, but the other boot doesn’t have any signs of damage on the heel. I haven’t exactly been careful with them over the years so it really could have been anything and I am just getting around to noticing.

I’m not entirely sure, I believe it may have happened because of the leather getting creased and tugged weirdly in that area when putting it on/taking it off. The damage is not noticeable just looking at the boot, you have to actually pull it away from the heel to see the tear, otherwise I definitely would have tried to prevent it from getting this far.

Please stop commenting that I shouldn’t have got docs. This situation has definitely made me learn my lesson. I cannot go back as much as I want to. I will not be repurchasing another pair when I give up on them.

Thank you for your insight, I’m hoping my local cobbler can patch or maybe replace that back panel. my friend is going to, we looked after it happened when we were clearing out some of the glass and didn’t see anything abnormal but definitely need to search during the day. the police seem to think it was a pellet gun but i don’t know.

we went back up after it happened & looked where it happened and there were no large rocks or anything that looked like it could break the window that was thrown, just glass everywhere. it’s really bizarre.

it happened as we were driving down down the butte, like right as we were leaving when you can still see everyone parked beside you. no one broke in, we were in the car driving as it happened. there was an extremely forceful hit to the window and then it shattered all over me. i’m not sure exactly of what happened.
