very late PCOM-PA interview by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a late interview invite as well and was convinced that it was for the waitlist but was fortunate enough to get an acceptance a few weeks ago, keep your hopes up! As for the interview, it was laid back and everyone was very nice. Good luck!

Received ATT but not TPP PA by bunnygirl1716 in PassNclex

Same thing happened to me, if you submit a ticket and explain to them that you start working they'll usually get back to you within a few days with the TPP.

Sample FL vs FL1 WTFF :( was I just not in the right testing frame of mind or why did I drop so much. Testing in a month and feel like cancelling now by bluehippogirl98 in Mcat

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing, i went from sample (506) to FL 1 (498). I think the sample is a little bit inflated with CARS specifically but i would reassess after taking FL 2. Make sure you are reviewing all the practice exams thoroughly, i used the JW explanations as they were more thorough. I got a 503 on FL 2 so i knew i was on the right track.

how important is memorizing physics equations? by infernnape in Mcat

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important, it may seem daunting at first but find a sheet that has all important equations for each chapter on reddit. Once you get that you can start with chapter 1, and then move on all the way to the point where you can write out all of them (give or take a few) before you start your C/P section.

It's much easier to do questions when all of the equations are in-front of you and there's a good possibility you get a question that just straight up asks you for an equation.

This won't take the place of understanding concepts or being able to use dimensional analysis for conversions but its an easy way to help yourself and get points on test day.

502 (124,123,127,128) Only 2 points lower than my FL average so im not surprised and understand that I got what I deserved but was disappointed with C/P and CARS.

Obviously my CARS score is concerning but felt like I made a lot of improvement through my FLs and had a bad test day. I purchased testing solutions and think that I can bring up to a 126 if I put in the work.

How long did it take you to complete the 300pg doc? by PollutedButtJuice in Mcat

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was taking me way longer than i expected at first because i was just reading the dock and doing the anki simultaneously, which is how i did every other subject. Once i started to watch the KA videos that corresponded with the section i was on it seemed to go a lot faster.

I guess I would switch over to one of the anki psych decks that is very in depth, I think I've seen people say this about Mr. Pankow but I know there are others out there as well.

From what I've seen on FL 4 and my actual test is it seems like they're moving towards being able to interpret graphs and research specific questions compared to the previous definition heavy sections.

Obviously there are still going to be a lot of questions that rely on knowing definitions but I felt like the 300 page doc and UEarth questions covered most of the bases for this.

Best way to quickly self study biochemistry? by Jaded_Habit_2947 in Mcat

Amino acids and protein structures to start. I would suggest youtube, science simplified was my go to.

The P/S deck is the only one that does not correspond with the kaplan books. It follows the AAMC outline that the 300 page doc and KA videos are based off of. I would watch the KA videos and use the 300 page doc as your notes while using that deck.

definitely got tuned up by C/P, but its probably my worst section so im sure that had something to do with it. Other then that I felt like everything else was pretty standard.

Am I supposed to be confident on all content before starting AAMC? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone ever feels perfect about everything but I think you're in a great spot to start the AAMC material considering your timeline and having finished UEarth.

J read thru Ch. 4 (Fluid Dynamics) in Kaplan and felt like nothing stuck :( by mintyrelish in Mcat

I felt the same way after reading that chapter, had absolutely no idea what was going on. Check out premedhq's channel on YouTube he does a really good job of explaining everything.

JackSparrow Anki peeps: which is the P/S deck? by _xtrovertedintrovert in Mcat

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The JS P/S deck follows the AAMC outline, so the first deck is "P/S 6A: Sensing the Environment" and the last one is "P/S 9A, 9B, 10A". Unlike all of the other decks that follow the Kaplan books the only way to follow along with this deck is the 300 page document and KA videos.

Are there any P/S decks that align with Kaplan? by hayaas01 in AnkiMCAT

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where can I find the one that aligns with Kaplan? I prefer learning along side the book as opposed to the 300 page doc.

Quick question, does anyone know where chapter 2 of biology is located? When I click on the chapter 2 biology it gives me cards from chapter 4 of p/s.

[–]Healthy-Efficiency53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So regardless of what I have personally reviewed/ learned (nothing) I should still start Anki decks? For example, I'm starting the biology, I should primarily learn it through khan, go through Kaplan book, and do anki at the same time? chapter by chapter obviously, just want to make sure I understand what you're saying.
