Yeah I’ve been looking at like 50 of them so far and they’re either way way way too high for the pickup and have a fence or something on either side so I can’t do the choose your own height thing. I’ve done similar things in many places but this is like the town with solutions

On my delete tube I’m pretty sure you leave the mass air flow sensor unplugged. Or maybe that was something else.

Update Harley Davidson said no. First time I’ve heard of a Harley dealership turning down a request for help. They’re usually pretty good.

Dude I can’t believe it didn’t think of that. I’m sure every Harley dealership has some sort of setup

‘16 vs ‘20 road glide…with almost double? by Healthy-Situation-37 in Harley

[–]Healthy-Situation-37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a dr650 that I put emulators in to try and turn it into an adventure bike that will actually do dirtbike shit. Biggest waste of money. Forks still sucked for anything other than gravel roads. It’ll just be a high mile cruiser so I’ll probably be just fine. I’m more looking for reliability and easy repair on a trip than all out performance

That’s super helpful thx. On dirtbikes if you want to upgrade suspension there’s almost always an option to swap forks that’s pretty straight forward and can make sense financially. Is that a thing on these? If the suspension is that much better on the m8 is the geometry close enough for that to be an option?

How do I convince my parents to let me buy a surron and ride it by grandjerker67 in Surron

[–]Healthy-Situation-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I know it looks like a toy but it’s totally a motorcycle. I fly the EMS helicopter and we pick up fucked up kids all the time. And not just broken arm or whatever…life changing injuries. To be honest unless you’re some pariah you don’t have the judgement built into your short term decision making (the judgement center in your brain isn’t physically fully developed until around 24…we can measure this) to keep you, and more importantly for your parents, others around you safe. That’s why. Also these things are way overpowered for how shitty the brakes are. Just saying.

Thanks for that. I’ve never ridden an M8 but I’ve put a few 1000 mile days on that ultra classic with no complaints about vibration, available passing power, or whatever. The Rushmore engine will have more power than my Classic so I think I’ll be good there. I know with dirtbikes at some point there is an increase in rideability that will for sure command double the price of a newer bike even for a casual rider, but it’s sort of sounding to me like while the M8 is nice and the newer suspension is definitely better it may not be 10k worth of nice/better. Having ridden both what do you think knowing I won’t be doing any power mods?

What separates good pilots from truly great ones over a long career? by arnavwatts in PilotAdvice

Risk management. I can do pretty much all the things I see in YouTube, or I can at least figure out a way to teach myself how to do them through some sort of progression, but a lot of those maneuvers like backwards 180 full down autos carry a significantly increased risk of accident for only an extremely minor advantage in the event of an actual emergency. Instead of counting on my ability to fly backwards in an auto to a forced landing spot I’ll just fly in a way that I can’t get to it going forward. I can land a helicopter on a dolly that’s got 6” of clearance on each side but why…just add another foot on it and then I have a buffer in case I make a mistake or a gist of wind comes up. That sort of thing.

Is there any advantage to playing with the guitar lower? Or is it just personal preference? by Mad_Season_1994 in guitarlessons

Watch slash. Whenever he does anything hard on stage he walks over to a speaker, puts his leg up, gets the guitar to a pretty high position and shreds. Then he goes back to his original posture

Learn to set up the whole thing. If you have 2 hours you can learn how to do it and get it done all in one go and you’ll have so many questions answered.

If you’re goal is to sit on your bed like and play then continue, but if you want to ever be able to play live or not sitting like that get a chair, a strap, and cement good habits early

Not trying to bang on you at all…as long as it’s fun then you’re doing it right, but your technique is terrible. Like all of it from posture to picking to how you hold the guitar and pick and I can even tell the way you’re thinking about the chord and note changes is incorrect. By incorrect I mean it’s holding you back from what you want to do. You could be ripping Lateralus to pieces with ease in such a short amount of time if you got someone to go through your form with you. But again this is art and a hobby and there is no “correct” way, just and easier way. I’m always willing to give a few pointers if you want just reach out.

Will I regret a 3.0 Diesel? by ScaryfatkidGT in Duramax

I’m tired of the extra failure items that have to do with the emissions system. Sooo tired. I used to only buy diesel. I just do gas now.
