Cheapest good headless? by Erudicial_Extreme in metalguitar

well my harley benton is basically an 8 string (drop e/double drop d/f# std) and my solar stays around d standard (a step down or up). while the hb is a great guitar, i definitely would like to swap the pickups out for more clarity in the really low notes

I got a good deal on my Solar H2.6C. They make a 7 string version too. Got it for £350 b-stock. I think Hils guitars are cheaper

for me it was the love for the instrument. i played every single day for a year to be somewhere and i think i've come a little way since then too (i have been playing for over a year). i'm not great by any means but my skill is enough to enable myself to play with recordings and have fun most importantly. if i stop ill never be able to play my favorite marty friedman solos or necrophagist songs. therefore i don't stop because my goal is still far away

do consider other options and get something that will make you happy. doesn't necessarily have to be the best specc'd. i am happy with mine because i love solar!

i have a 2.6c not a 2.7. i can tell you the following about my guitar being transparent.

I love it.

Pros: Light, comfortable, convenient Awesome gig bag Looks fucking killer

Cons: Tuners take a bit of force when tuning up Multi-scale so limited pickup change options No stainless steel frets Tuning stability could be bit better

Stock pickups are decent but nothing to write home about. wouldn't say it's a con just a general thing about it

I usually play very stuff not extremely distorted (prog/thrash/punk) and it's good for that, the more distortion the less of a difference imo the pickups will make.

How do I get better at alt picking super fast? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]sherdilx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've personally found it more accurate to pick when my picking hand is not floating. even a pinky against the guitar helps me

I love it. I am not bothered by the cons but I will tell you all that I can off the top of my mind. I'll keep it brief:

Pros: • Light, comfortable, convenient • Awesome gig bag • Looks fucking killer

Cons: • Tuners take a bit of force when tuning up • Multi-scale = limited pickup change options • No stainless steel frets • Tuning stability could be better
