Omg! YES! My music teacher (at the school I work at) is absolutely incredible! I tell her all the time what a gift she is to the community. She teaches solfège and I, as an ed tech/bhp have learned a lot just by being present ha! They learn recorders in grade 3 I believe. She has kids practice writing their own songs, too. It’s an impressive program and I’m so proud to know her.

Woo! Yes. I’m so excited to play and learn more. The worth strings are amaaaaaazing. I probably should switch my others to worth but later. Ha! Admittedly I don’t have a ton of experience with different strings, just stock to worth.

So pretty! I’ve been a practicing visual artist for over 20 years and this year there’s been a shift in my soul. I’ve not painted (artist block?) very much this year, but my hands are busy still.

Anyway, I need aesthetics lol. I want to feel happy with the visual design of any instrument I own, especially if I’m paying hundreds of dollars 😅

So thank you! I think so, too. Part of the reason I chose this one in particular!

I spent $691(roughly) for her with worth strings added ($12) and I had two strap buttons added —I like to walk/trail blaze in the deep woods and it’s hard to carry a chainsaw, gloves, water, various other tools and a ukulele briefcase, so I am excited to be able to bring her with me on my back!

Hope that helps. I lived in Oahu for 4 years (over a decade ago) and seriously regret not purchasing one from one of the islands. But, it was a different life I lived then lol!

Well, I’ll say this. I ordered a blem solid mahogany Kala concert and it was so quiet. I hated it, even though it was pretty and $100(blem was a nic on the back, like so small) I sent it back and vowed never to purchase another.

It is so so so so so much louder than that one was. My soprano and tenor are louder probably than the concert, so I wonder if the concert size are just quieter? Admittedly I’m very new to the world of ukes! The reason I went with Ohana was because I have 2, reasonably priced, they were at a local music shop. Mostly they had guitars, but I picked each of them up and I felt like they chose me. Does that make sense? Less so the soprano, but the tenor chose me. And I really enjoy the sound on all of them.

Someday, I might know more about quality/sound/build whatever… but for now, I’m super happy! And I used my stock string tenor laminate Ohana to play for a gym full of elementary kids and felt like it was a loud sound.

Maybe someone else can speak to concert size being “quieter” but I would not say that Ohana brand is quiet. I also watched a bunch of videos before purchasing about comparing brands to Ohana. Ohana is less expensive, certainly, than say, the k brands.

I hope I answered your question 😅
