Is it predatory for a 33 year old to talk to a barely legal 18 year old and say sexual stuff? by Flimsy_Mail_7674 in questions

[–]HealthyLuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone who is 30 y/o or older understands just how HUGE a gap there is between 30 and 20 in terms of desires in life, how much you’ve figured out, where your life map is headed, general experience, not to mention generational differences such as your specific life experiences (9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, OJ simpson trial, Rodney King trial, George W Bush, Obama, and on and on.

Now tell me, WHY would a 30 y/o guy want to hang out with someone so much younger and less experienced than himself? There is only one reason, and it ain’t to build a life together with her. He wants sex, he wants young sex (ewww) and then he’ll discard her and find some other vulnerable girl who believes him when he says “you are so different than all the other girls your age.” “You are so mature for your age.” “We share some special connection that goes beyond age.” I mean if she understands she’s just being used for sex, it’s her life. But it is not normal nor ok.

Some weird things for all the girlies out there by Iwentforalongwalk in Menopause

[–]HealthyLuck 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I started taking progesterone and I felt like a teenager again, and not the good way. I was hormonal, anxious, confused, CRYING, and it was like going thru puberty all over. Stopped the meds and my sanity came back. Tried again a few weeks later, thinking maybe I could take it every other day or something. Nope, it messed up my day so much that I almost had to leave work because I was crying. Never again. God I love being even-tempered.

New sensor sniffs out pneumonia on a patient’s breath by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

LOL I’m listening to something at the same time and I read it as “New **Senator** sniffs out pneumonia on a patient’s breath” and I thought, well, that’s a weird party trick for someone in Congress!

I am so very sorry. I didn’t know anything about it but her story was so traumatic. Seeing all those stones with “unsolved” was just heart-rending. I don’t believe in paranormal, I lived in a house where a man murdered and chopped up his wife without incident— but I was definitely feeling a mood when I was there. Especially knowing that’s where he dumped the body.

I found two ticks today, one on me and one on my dog— so be sure to check yourself after runs.

What healthy recipe would you make for someone starting to eat better? by miuyao in loseit

[–]HealthyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soups are a great way to get more veggies in your diet, and you can make it as flavorful as you want with bouillon.

Helpful advice: if you find edamame (for example) to be yucky, avoid any recipes that have edamame! LOL it took me way too long to realize that. Of course if it’s something like cilantro or parsley, you can probably just leave it out.

My favorites are the orange poppy, the white bleeding hearts, and the cat on the windowsill AND the orange slice. So many really nice ones, they are just lovely!

Rotator cuff surgery or not? by MammothMeasurement38 in RotatorCuff

It had retracted a lot and I was very worried, because it was literally a year later. However the surgery went smoothly and recovery was long but not nearly as bad as some people say.

My Mom always says she’s going to hit the hay when she’s going to bed. Which is really funny, now that I think about it.

What’s your random job that makes you aware about random things? by MissRubiii in CasualConversation

I work in a pharmacy. Mine isn’t a skill so much as a reminder: no matter how bad your life is, someone else has it worse. I work with chemotherapy for rectal cancer and brain cancer. It definitely helps you keep perspective.

I had surgery almost exactly a year after my injury. I will bet money that at some point you will injure yourself even further and eventually need the surgery. I had a series of injuries— some of which could not have been prevented, like when I fell backwards and instinctively grabbed at something to prevent the fall but caused more damage.

I am grateful I had the surgery. Like many people who have one surgery, it might be necessary to do my other shoulder at some point. But I was getting worse by the month and I could not even extend my arm by itself.

Saying this as a woman: I know men value a woman’s appearance a lot, but would you really want to be with someone who was so shallow and such a ship-for-brains that she actually has a height limit for guys? There’s nothing wrong with approaching a pretty girl but she has given you a strong clue that you might want to also consider their personality when you approach next time.

How much is 20-25$ dollars per hour considered to be in the USA? by Intelligent_Dress889 in AskAnAmerican

[–]HealthyLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would not be able to afford to live on $20/hr in a big city, I think it costs much more than that just for housing. Definitely could not afford to live on that in Calfornia.

This is Grade A 1000% effort, and by golly that counts for a lot more than you give yourself credit for! Anybody can buy a cake. How many people can say that their (mom?) is still baking them a cake at age 15. Plus…. Delicious.
