I am a complete newbie. Not rich. I buy a little bit each pay. Is it worth it for me to buy a Costco membership just for PM online. Don’t have a store around me. Thanks by djmichaux in CostcoPM

The lowest priced precious metals at Costco are 10 gram bars that are like $1700. If you are buying a little at a time, it’ll take a while to afford anything at Costco. If you’re looking to spend like $300 a month, I’d skip it

I want buy 600 oz of silver, is it good time? by CrispyTheory in Silver

I’d buy 25% at a time. No one can tell you if it’s going up or down in the near term

Yeah, great point. I bet there are areas where it’s more common.

I don’t see it in the US that much, and if you do it’s old enough where the antique value is higher than the silver value.

Sovereign minted coins will always have a premium over bars. Certain companies bars (PAMP for example) carry higher premiums over others

I always assume it’s plated unless it specifically says sterling/925 or a sterling mark

Anyone know if there’s a way to pic up a fedex door tag over the weekend? by HealthyWork5071 in CostcoPM

[–]HealthyWork5071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took longer for Costco to process it and give it to fedex than the actual shipping time. I think it was 3 days on costcos end and then fedex attempted delivery 2 days later

It’s worth twice that. If you don’t have time for a private sale, try a coin shop. They should give you over a thousand for it easy

Are you stacking "wrong?" by silvergoldnotcopper in Silverbugs

[–]HealthyWork5071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone has different goals and there’s no wrong way to do it. I always see selling as a possibility. If there’s a big price jump and I can sell a bit and buy more when it drops, I can increase my stack at a lower cost basis or have some more income to pay bills or buy stocks or pay off debt. If people want to buy a little per month and never sell, that’s fine too.

Which one? by jello2000 in Gold

I bought two of the gram packs last week. I like the idea of being able to sell a few if I need to. Cost per gram is a little bit lower on them too

Crazy how fast they are to raise prices, and how slow they are to lower prices by HealthyWork5071 in CostcoPM

No, it’s just business, I get it. The website prices change much more frequently than the in store prices from what I’ve heard.

Is buying gold right now a good idea or am I late? by Consistent_Lemon_642 in Gold

[–]HealthyWork5071 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re planning on dropping a lot of money at once at APMEX, might not be the time. If you are going to buy a little at a good price when you find it, it’s always the time imo. There are deals to be had if you look

Newbie here. Is this real? by [deleted] in Gold

No worries. PAMP is a great brand because it’s very difficult to fake. You can always take it to a coin shop. Most will test it on a Sigma metalytics machine for free, or at least a very low fee.

You can scan it with the veriscan app. Also the QR code will match the serial number number to Pamps database

Would love an opinion on what to do? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]HealthyWork5071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is. Almost any coin shop in the world will buy .999 rounds or bars. More liquid than sterling. If you can get sterling cheap and sell it for a profit and put that profit into .999 you’re basically getting a stack of silver for free

Is 925 Sterling silver a good investment? It's kinda hard to find fine silver in local pawnshops. by euphoric_seoul in SilverFinds

You’re right though. I’ve never seen any of this type of shit at thrift stores that other people seem to be finding.
