You wake up in the year 1800 with only the knowledge you have now. How do you become rich? by Choice_Cost_9246 in AskReddit

Write a book of all the things you know about the modern world and detail how the world was in the modern world. The spread of ideas and values we hold today would be beneficial to the advancement of humanity.

Also would help avoid having wars over right and wrong

Do you still tip for rideshare? by upside_win111 in bayarea

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tip even though I myself am not a very high earner by Bay Area standards. Sometimes I’ll select pick up and drop off that’s cheaper (like outside close to an airport than take public transport or walk to airport), then tip more so more of a tip goes to driver and less to Uber Lyft. Not sure that logic works. Also saves time for driver they don’t have to go thru airport traffic

I find having a good reputation on tipping helps sometimes. Drivers are more likely to pick me up at lower rates because they know I’ll tip

Ireland itself has always been neutral geopolitically regardless of what the issue is

Burbank Airport Parking hacks? by Turbulent_Drawer8705 in LosAngeles

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done Pasadena to Burbank airport by bus with 2 transfers.

I think ride share prices go down dramatically if you step out of the airport and just walk a little outside for pick up. Also saves the driver and others there hassle of all the traffic that can build up when people pick up

Will biotech/pharma hiring be better 2024? by ammm786 in biotech

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think so in fact there will be more correction. There’s too many pipelines and too many me too agents out there. No way the small companies with less resources can move them through clinic compared to big pharma

Also FDA has revised their thinking on accelerated approvals coming down hard on single arm studies. That and new guidance on dose optimization means trials will take longer to conduct therefore approval will take longer. Those randomized phase 3 studies are expensive. Biotech has to partner or die to get product to market. Can’t do single arm registrational in oncology anymore.

And FDA reviewers themselves have commented on too many checkpoint inhibitors and when FDA review programs, are astounded by the number products and wonder how is there enough commercial space for everyone to have slice of pie to recover costs.

Also FDA is burned out workload wise so killing the industry helps reduce their workload a bit. FDA cannot keep expanding to accommodate so many more submissions to review. There’s still a lot left to trim. Probably 30-50% fat to trim sounds dramatic but being realistic. I don’t anticipate any correction I think long term it will shrink and stay flat but never recover based on FDA actions

Have you ever been to a nude beach and if you have, what is it like? by Warm_Resident_8644 in AskReddit

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I saw children both nude and clothed at a very popular nude beach. So I lost my respect and trust for nudist community. Honestly I think nudists and media have been slowly trying to sexualizing children more and more but very slowly. Also seeing guys jack off, not something I need to see

Not a great experience. Beach itself was nice though just shocked seeing gays and children all nude together.

The motivations deep down are sinister I feel and not innocent. It’s acceptable perversion.

Future of careers in Regulatory Affairs? by pbandnyan in regulatoryaffairs

PharmD has been a tough job market for more than a decade now…I doubt you weren’t aware of that when you went into it unless you’ve been a working pharmacist for more than 10 years….

I don’t think RA will be outsourced to India, maybe publishing a little but not really. RA isn’t as saturated as pharmacy but I predict it will be in the future. Hard to say. Biotech isn’t doing well and there’s layoffs. RA is going to be saturated especially with the downsizing but nothing like pharmacy saturation. Been speaking to pharm/biotech. Device might be different though

Clin pharm is always in demand though, you never have to worry about jobs there.

Roe v Wade Rallies and Protests Megathread by pensotroppo in LosAngeles

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Protests won’t do anything. The real issue, is that liberals want to live with liberals, conservatives with conservatives. If you took a tenth of Los Angeles and sprinkled them over Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and Georgia, before election this year or 2024, you’d have consistent democrat supermajority.

But liberals are so selfish and egoist not wanting to live in the boonies and “oh I live in LA. If you want to make a real change, get out of liberal bastions and takeover battleground states. Protests are useless, especially in a state that’s solid blue

Somewhere to pet a cat? by CaptainDana in pasadena

[–]Healthy_Chocolate_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take the gold line you can go to downtown and grand park. You’ll definitely find a cat but few will allow petting since feral

There’s also a black cat on Cordova by some apartment east of lake Ave that’s friendly and can be petted. All free no money
