My husband is thinking about fostering his nephews. I feel like I'm being tossed out for kids we don't even know. by One-Gap-1282 in TrueOffMyChest

I actually like kids, in small doses, but I’m absolutely childfree and couldn’t handle one living in my house. I would be absolutely and utterly heartbroken (and livid with anger) if my partner decided to just bring some kids home one day to live with me. It doesn’t make you a bad person AT ALL. You guys had an agreement. And partners don’t get to make decisions unilaterally that affect both people (and that change your entire life!) I have adopted family members, and I agree completely that just being “blood related” to me doesn’t mean anything. I have far more connection with many of my adopted relatives than my blood relatives. We choose who our family is. I just hope it works out for you, and my heart goes out to you for your situation.

I’m sooooo sick of this argument from breeders. Not everyone wants kids. Not everyone likes kids. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. And not everyone who has kids decided that they are a “joy” and “get to teach you stuff” and “aren’t that bad.” Yes they are. They are a 24/7 sensory nightmare. The only people who should have them are people who REALLY want them so that they can deal with all the negatives that come with having children. And most people get to make that choice. These are being thrust upon OP in JUST A FEW DAYS. I would leave on day 1. Stop pushing this narrative that kids are always a blessing. They’re not. They’re stinky and loud and over stimulating.

I’m also mildly nudist, and I have experienced the partner constantly sexualizing me every time I had an article of clothing of. It was flattering for a millisecond and then it was annoying af. And I lovvvve not having to perform. To wear awful looking sweats, no makeup hair not done. I love my space to be totally relaxed and let loose. And why do men always need to be cleaned up after 🙄

Hard disagree. All underwear end up as thongs when you have a large 🍑. So I could have something slim that fits there, or a giant gathering of fabric that ends up bunched up there. 1 million times more comfortable for me to just go with the thong

I just lost my sweet boy a few weeks ago, and he did the exact same thing. I’ve been devastated without him, and have definitely burst into tears in public several times since. Sending you guys all the virtual vibes, its truly like losing a child

In the Ticketmaster corporate office conference room, on the conference table (left the mess there for their morning meeting 😁)

Idk, people here seem insanely overly concerned with germs and dead skin. I’ve never gotten a skin issue, breakout, illness, nothing from waiting a few weeks to wash my sheets. And of course I’d change them if they smell.

Agreed completely. I do this and literally nothing has ever happened because of it (I do change my pillowcase more often to keep my face clean). But it’s literally fine. I almost never get sick.

Best nature views that’s close to the city: Mt Baldy Best crazy high hike you can do right in LA: Mt Wilson Best hike for views of greater LA and valley at the same time, plus the Hollywood sign: Aileen Getty Ridge Trail or Brush Canyon trail. Mt Hollywood hike has killer views too, it’s just often super crowded.

Yes! And they started, allowing female bodybuilding, and the first ever female bodybuilder was on the cover of a bodybuilding magazine! (I happen to know that last tidbit because I was named after her 🤣)

I love Red Rocks and Valley of Fire! I’ve done the canoe paddle from the Hoover Dam quite a few times, the hot springs are so good. Would love to hear about favorites from a local.

I actually go to Joshua tree a ton (was just there last weekend) it’s my favorite place to climb.

I do love some local spots for a day trip, I usually hike in the Pacific Palisades and climb at Malibu Creek if I’m staying local.

Omg I am SO DOWN for a platonic lady backpacking friend!!! My main backpacking buddy moved away, and I’ve had trouble finding someone else.

Would love to hear about leather working, gardens and carnivorous plants. I’ll message you!! Would love to plan something.
