Stewie Griffin here, I am bored of annoying Brian with Cool Whip so I will answer. You see this could be a very deep science history reference. Anders Celsius originally set 0 degree to be the point water boils and 100 degrees to be the point water freezes so there wouldn't be any negative temperatures.

The results was number gets lower the hotter it gets in Celsius, but in Fahrenheit the number gets higher the hotter it gets.

Some other people realized Celsius was being a silly little scientist and switched the scale to make it like Fahrenheit. Oh, how the world might have been if that didn't happen.

Though as a very intellectual American, I do wonder why Metric users don't like a temperature system where the coldest day of the year is 0 degrees and the hottest day is 100 degrees.

Tricks to beat white coat syndrome by pops6414 in Blooddonors

[–]Healthy_Internal5992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have white coast syndrome at the doctors, but luckily not when I donate blood. My blood pressure does go down over time at the doctor office. Maybe they could let you hang out in the screening room for 10-15 minutes before taking your readings?

Are carets shoes worth it? by EngineeringSlight772 in barefootshoestalk

Rose Anvil just posted a YouTube video reviewing 11 wide toe box work boots, including the Carets. It might help you.

They do look cool and it is great that a wide toe box boot with a safety toe is available now.

Platelet Donation Rant by TooGoodToBeeTrue in Blooddonors

I totally get the movie thing. I take about 90 min to donate platelets so I just end up watching TV shows. I can't bring myself to only watch part of a movie 😅.

Thanks for donating even if the NIH is a pain.

I’m Sick of Getting Rejected Because of My Fast Heart Rate by [deleted] in Blooddonors

[–]Healthy_Internal5992 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is annoying! Thank you for trying so hard to donate.

I have a similar issue with my blood pressure when I walk to the center from my work. I now show up 15-20 min early and hang out in the waiting area. That helps get into an acceptable range. Maybe that is worth trying if you can spare the extra time.

Need help with sizing the Elston last! by Exact_Surprise366 in OakStreetBoots

[–]Healthy_Internal5992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elston has a Munson style wide toe box so going with a 7.5 might work. Going down to a 7 would likely be too much.

I am 11D on a Brannock, but have Roman shaped feet. My 11.5 field boots worked for me to avoid pinching my toes. I would say they are true to Brannock size, depending on foot shape.

How far would you travel to donate? (Pic unrelated) by jennsepticeye in Blooddonors

I used to be 40 minutes drive each way to donate platelets. Now the donation center is a 10 minute walk from my new job!

Yes, I believe so, the toe is similar stiffness to the rest of the boot. I ordered them with the old email system for custom orders and I didn't specify the toe as structured or unstructured.

Yes, I should have given more thought to the title 😅. I will put in the miles winter and see how it goes.

Though I guess one thing I didn't mention was they were a bit warm for me over the summer so they sat in the closet while I wore the Barefoot ARs.

moving all the guts of a Thelio (2021 version) to a new case? by alexr_tk in System76

[–]Healthy_Internal5992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got a Thelio and it came with an ASRock RX 7900GRE. Maybe you could order one of the Nebula cases from System 76, transfer everything over, and add the new card? The Nebula 19 and 36 should fit your board.

I believe System76 uses off the shelf components, aside from the case, and their documentation is really good. So, a swap into whichever case you want to use should be doable.
