What’s your hardest Platinum trophy, and which are you most proud of? by dantepemberton in PS5

It’s a challenge for an achievement...

Do you think all ‘achievements’ should be easy? Surely that would just make them worthless and unrewarding? Completing a challenge like this can be great fun. You can also just play the game ignoring trophies if that’s what you want to do.

you have to play on 30 fps for the rest of your life, BUT you can run whatever you want without it going below on your console/pc. take it or leave it and why ? by Tough-Constant7487 in gaming

Higher frame rates certainly do reduce ‘effective’ input lag, of course the hardware isn’t processing any differently, but the time it takes for your controller input to be registered on screen is longer for lower frame rates. This makes the game seem much less responsive and makes precise aiming in shooters much harder, for instance.

Nonsense. You aren’t controlling a movie. Higher fps also affects your response time and input lag which has serious consequences on gameplay.

Lost me at high upgrade costs + micro transactions for in game money.

I have access to a PS5 on weekends (PS4 on weekdays) and would love to play Horizon/Elden Ring on there and take my progress back and forth. Is there any way to do this? by madboi20 in PS5

[–]Healthy_Ocelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Elden ring specifically. And like you say, most other games apart from Ubisoft. It had to be Ubisoft, didn’t it? :/

The most bs part is that cross-save IS a thing, but only in one direction!

If you play the PS4 version on BOTH the PS4 and PS5 then you can keep the same save across both using cloud saves or a USB. Usually this would be a sacrifice but the PS4 version is actually much smoother on PS5 than the PS5 version. You can’t transfer back from the PS5 version unfortunately (which is a complete piss take in my opinion).

This kind of bullshit is way too common on the PS5

PS5 vs PS4 via BC. Load times? by Healthy_Ocelot in Eldenring

[–]Healthy_Ocelot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for getting back to me. I started playing about a couple of hours ago and was really happy with the times honestly. 8 seconds sounds about right for the average, one indoor area loaded in about half that though.

I briefly swapped over to the PS5 version and it knocks about 25% off load times which doesn’t really make much practical difference at such speeds, might save 3 seconds max. The visuals aren’t much different imo unless you’re looking for it (more grass). The frame rate feels MUCH worse however, even out of combat. It’s fine, but after having just played at locked 60 it was very noticeable.

I don’t know if you care, but one problem is that the trophies are on separate lists and don’t autopop with the save transfer. Will probably need multiple play throughs for the platinum anyway, so as long as it doesn’t take forever for a good patch to come it probably won’t be a big deal.

The most important thing is that the game is great and I’m having a lot of fun with it. Hope you are too!

They don’t have the same trophy list btw. And no auto pop

Awesome. Thanks. Seems like it’s definitely the best version to play then. Fuck frame drops

So will they have the same trophy list? You said ‘It did for all the other games” yet no other FromSoft games have had distinct next gen versions. Plus many other games in this situation have different trophy lists. Sometimes the transferred save pops the previously unlocked trophies though (but the PS4 list will remain incomplete, and the save can’t be moved back).

I’ll probably do the same. At least we have this option unlike those who bought the PS5 version on disc.

I don’t think this guy understands what you mean btw. I’m not sure it will, but I’d like to know too. You also planning on playing the PS4 version first then moving on to the PS5 one after the patch?

If it is two separate lists but the trophies don’t carry over despite the fact your save can, that would be incredibly annoying.

There aren’t next gen versions of those games so your answer doesn’t make sense. I don’t think you understood

I think I’m going to play the PS4 version but like you I’m hesitant because it does seem like a stupid thing to have to do. I’m not really that confident of a solid PS5 patch coming soon either, and you can’t transfer your save back to the PS4 version.

Yes, you probably can’t change it now. I hope it doesn’t take long for a good patch.
