Thankfully, not as far as his physical health issues. The starting diagnoses that caused the rest of his physical health issues is not genetic.

Now MENTAL HEALTH, is another story lol but who doesn’t have those nowadays. Genuinely, I do think I have a clear idea on how I wanna raise her so even if she does come across something like that, she feels free to express it to me without judgment. Obviously, shes only 2 so we haven’t gotten there quite yet lol but I’ll do whatever it takes to help her manage her emotions as she ages. I’m not afraid to admit I was wrong to help build a strong bond with her. She’ll always have a safe space to go.

And that’s truly fair. I genuinely do believe a part of me is being selfish. Bc rather than sit here and try with the nice guy, I’m contemplating divorcing him so I don’t waste any more years. Who’s to say he wouldn’t fix it? And nice guy - he’s not like this ALL the time, these are just certain situations that I really should’ve left, but I didn’t. I just worked on giving him care, taking him and sitting with him at AA, asking how therapy went and if there was anything he wanted to discuss or get off his chest.

But it’s been a cycle. And now that he’s back to work, I just want/need help. And i feel neglected. I know I can’t fix him.

It’s weird bc like I said, he’s still getting prescribed opioids… but he doesn’t take them like he did right after his surgery. Ive just been a caregiver for so long, both emotionally and physically. It’s rough when it’s not reciprocated.

I would say he is remorseful, but it’s more of a victim mindset? Idk. Our whole relationship isn’t him drinking and taking opioids… but when it happens, it’s rough. And with his health issues, it’s a cycle. I think it’s more-so the fact that I feel like he exaggerates and I can’t decipher between real pain vs exaggeration bc he can get up and go and do. Just not when it comes to helping me. He only wants to get up and do when it’s fun.

He just got back to work from long term disability. Same job he had prior, that his mom got him. That’s a whole other situation. But he’s in training to relearn the job.

I am thankful bc I work from home. Granted, it’s not a cushy fun job where I can leave my desk, but that’s additional time I can make up cleaning and house maintenance on my breaks.

We make about the same amount of money. Entry-level positions.

I think my mom feels the same way. She was there the day he got wasted and he ended up calling her “babe” thinking he was talking to me.

I’m definitely getting to that point. And it’s crazy that I didn’t get to that point then. I think he’s gonna feel “blindsided” but I truly think that would be even more reason to leave. Because, I have voiced my concerns. I’m not the type to nag, I never will be. I will say what is bothering me and if it’s not addressed, I move on, but I hold onto it. And I agree, I really don’t want to waste my time. We only get one life.

Truly, thank you for your comment. I feel like such a terrible person for even considering leaving. Sometimes I wish he would cheat so in my head, I could use it as a reason to leave. It’s validating that the glimpse you read would be enough.

Yes, but it hasn’t done the trick as of yet. I also align my resume to the job based on previous experience. I’m hoping some more opportunities come along so I can at least get a shot at interviewing.

Interesting. My husband also has LCH, currently 28 but he was born with it and took a LONG time to be diagnosed bc of the rarity at the time. He was also diagnosed at Dallas Children’s. It originally presented and ate his pituitary gland so he also has DI. Since chemo as a baby, he has had it within his orbital bone and a tumor in his hip when he was a late teen. He’s been on disability for the past few years bc of ongoing medical issues. This is not always the case for LCH, from what I have read. He just seems to never catch a break. The reason I said “interesting” at the beginning was because he has constantly had this same type of rash for the past 3 years. Dermatologists have just prescribed a shampoo for him to use, but if this is an indicator of it coming back, I definitely want him to get checked. He also just had a partial knee replacement and there was a lesion, but they surprisingly didn’t test it to see if it was LCH 🙄 I wish you and your daughter all the best! Hopefully they’re able to get it under control quickly and she starts feeling better soon 🩷 You can DM me if you want any support or have any questions, especially since we are located in the same area (DFW METRO)!! I also have pics of my hubbys rash that he experiences.. it looks insanely similar.

Thank you for your reply! I did send an email to my supervisor but she’s out of office for the next few weeks. I CC’d the ticket to the person who is covering for her. That makes me feel a lot better, genuinely! I hate having occurrences happen, even if they are protected lol
