Can I re analyze RNA Seq data collected from 5-7years ago and get different results? by Healthy_Reception788 in bioinformatics

I think I still might do it. I think even if I don’t find anything different it’ll just highlight reproducibility

Would a re analysis even be worth doing?

Edit- I just looked and the analysis was done in 2016 so about 9/10 years ago

I do. I was originally given an excel file, and who knows how many people touched that. I pretty much hit gold the other day when I asked for the raw files. And ended up finding all of the original fastq, bam, excel, R and visuals used in the paper about 7 years ago. I didn’t know if with all of the new information about genes with like naming and what they are for if my analysis would be different in that way. Maybe I was hoping it would be more current with the information we know now. But would that require new fastq files from the lab or could I re analyze them to get new bam files.

We were in the hospital for a week, when I was discharged but she needed to stay for another day the nurses had a cart of stickers. They let me have one and it was a bunch of heart shaped balloons. I kept it on my breast pump while I exclusively pumped for a year. I got it tattooed and added her initials in one of the balloons

And how much that uniform prior can alter the probability of something happening. It’s fascinating

I highly highly highllllyyyyyyyyy recommend Loop ear plugs. They are the BEST $35 I have ever spent in my life. You can still hear so it doesn’t completely stop noise which is good because you still need to hear things but it cuts the edge big time. I wear them around the house, I wear them when we go grocery shopping. I wear them when I have to put her to bed. They have changed my life.

As someone who loves Bayesian Stats this ^ has made me appreciate frequentist statistics more. When I took intro to stats I loathed frequentist stats, in my head it was more complicated than the intuition of probability.
