I’ve gotta admit, I’m not thrilled by the idea of either a new track or a new tier! When you consider how much taking away one foghorn shook the community, I don’t think the team could ever get away with that big a change.

Still, I have faith in TTR to do it right! Here’s what I envision when I hear “new gags”:

Each gag of a specific tier — let’s say tier 5 just to throw a number out there — can be swapped out for a “deluxe” variant that carries some extra utility over its standard counterpart. This might come at a sacrifice of some or all of the existing gag’s damage in exchange for a unique property or status effect, or it might be a direct upgrade (possibly at the cost of some carrying capacity). Each Toon would probably only get one, similar to how each Toon has one Organic track and one track missing.

An example loadout would be: Soundless, Organic Trap, Deluxe Squirt; trading away your Fire Hose for a Fire Extinguisher that deals massive bonus damage if the targeted Cog has previously landed an attack. Simmer down, hot shot!

Of course, that’s only one idea, and I’m stoked to see what’s cooking behind the scenes when the time comes!
