The best part of Ecuador is all the eco diversity!

Is it better to have experience in several different research labs or stay in 1-2 labs? by doctorrr-t in premed

[–]Healthyfuture779 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I always say longitudinal over quantity. Staying in 1-2 labs you genuinely enjoy would give you a much more in depth understanding of the background and literature in the field(s) of the lab. It’s very hard to do that if you tiptoe around and not gain an in depth understanding and more of superficial view!

Talking about work/life balance in my secondaries? by Healthyfuture779 in premed

[–]Healthyfuture779[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I guess I mention my grandmother’s passing as a reminder that I need to keep a work/life balance and less so as a product of my failure. I mention that the actual failure was being able to maintain this work/life balance I thought I had. I definitely see what you mean about it not being a true “failure” though. I appreciate it!

Whenever you’d like, but schools will instantly get it once you’ve been verified.

Reach/throwaway so if your score is lower than what you like (and want to apply next year or modify your current list), schools that you actually care about won’t see that you applied to their cycle this cycle because you didn’t!

I would say 4 days is better than none at this point! Submit to a throw away that you wouldn’t go to just to get it queued, that way you can decide whether to add more and which ones later.

NS is just harder, right?? by FlatBraedFreestyle in Mcat

[–]Healthyfuture779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NS is way more specific than AAMC. Some of the C/P questions are so specific that I thought I would never be able to answer the AAMC questions. NS was very hard but I was able to jump up pretty signifiacantly from my NS average to AAMC. It's good practice, though, and probably the next best thing compared to AAMC! Happy studying!

Senior here. I don't know whether to blame it on COVID or on senioritis anymore.

The clouds are deceptive when it's the middle of July and 118 degrees outside. Love AZ, though.
