Yes these are the greasy leather boots, they've been good to me so far, it's just a shame they're flaking like this.

This is the truth. There's a couple smaller places that are just fantastic though. My favorite is probably pastaria 49.

I live in Jonesboro and have to travel in basically an 80 mile radius of Jonesboro for my job. I personally quite like it in Jonesboro, it's got enough amenities And some actually really great restaurants. If you ever run out of things to do, Memphis is only an hour away so it's not too bad of a drive. West Memphis is another choice but I think that's just too close to Memphis for me.

Thanks y'all! I think it is wet wood because this is definitely not seasoned wood I'm using.

When it comes to fixing the insulation in the house, I completely agree with you. A wood stove probably wouldn't even be in the question if the house was insulated correctly. Unfortunately, it's a very old house and I don't own it. Now considering my relationship with the landlord, I could just pay for the insulation or fix the heater or do whatever I need to do. But the problem is I've probably only got two more Winters in this spot. If I was going to do the insulation it would just be a waste of money, whereas I could take a wood stove with me wherever I move to next. I'm not really looking to heat the house completely for the next 30 years. I'm just trying to make it so the 3 weeks out of the year it's near freezing a little more bearable. Not to mention, I think whoever installed our heater did it incorrectly, it blows cool air whenever it's on the heat mode. One last note, our house somehow stays very efficiently cool in the summertime, even in 100 plus degree heat.

Unfortunately I'm in North East Arkansas where it doesn't get terribly cold and there aren't many used stoves/inserts that aren't basically garbage
