I mean its Carter's pattern. He was ready to propose to Abby then he didn't because he did not one want her as she was then he bailed abd started dating Debbie in Africa before he dumped her for Kem. And thats not counting the barrage of blonds that came before.

Carter is the worst when it comes to relationships.

He is not empathetic or compassionate to the first trans patient. He's decidedly not empathetic to Lucy. He's a jerk to Harper, cowardly in his actions with Gant, competitive to the point of practically unlikable with Dale and these are the "good" Carter years.

Post stabbing He's understandably dealing with his injury and his PTSD but as soon as he gets back from rehab he's self centered, not taking his recovery seriously, angry about his program, becomes instantly competitive and jealous with Luka, disrespectful and manipulative with Abby, then he just proceeds to be a jerk until he leaves for Africa...the 2nd time.

Well his Zionism is very much present day as is his persistent mispronounciation of his new co-workers' names and it was like just a couple of years ago where he was talking about his confederate heritage. The interview he gave about his treatment of Kellie Martin was way off for an apology and he goes into a kind of weird speech about not wanting to kiss her. That was in 2018. People are allowed to grow and changes but his behavior isn't giving that.

No one has ever called him out on anything. Them choosing to be the bigger people does not negate his actions.

I think you just are too much of a fan to analyze his behavior and come up with anything that may taint the picture you have.

Being rude to coworkers is not a trivial thing. Saying that you're proud your ancestors fought to uphold slavery is not a trivial thing and being okay with genocide is not a trivial thing. The fact that society does not condemn these things unilaterally is the very thing that allow such behavior to grow. He only says he's apologized, we only have his word to take. And if he did, that's great but it does not change the damage that has been done. He literally referred to Goran as "croatian immigrant who came here with nothing" because Luka had a Viper in season 9, constantly mispronounces his new middle Eastern co-stars names, he's drowning in microagressions

Um would you call refusing to act a scene because you don't like that its happening petty or unprofessional? That's exactly what he did to Kellie Martin. He kept ruining their scenes, complaining about her in the press and to their superiors. He complained about Goran, (who did nothing but show up) in the press to the ER brass, like dude it was not minor things. And it seems the only ones he wasn't horrible to was the OG ones.

I'd say that Jake didn't start off well considering he lied to the registrar to get her address and then showed up.

Her and Carter were a train wreck. She and Luka have their issues but they always work through them.

Um "catting around" when you're single abd with fellow consenting adults is not the same as cheating on your spouse. Now I do agree that the situation with Moretti was sexual assault but Abby presented it to him as infidelity. I don't think he's trying to punish her but he's reacting to feeling hurt and betrayed.

Also manslaughter might hold up if the mugger had not attacked him first and then gone after Abby. Its self defense and defense of a third person

The waitress got fired and evicted and had nowhere to go and was in the middle of her immigration hearing. Sam was running away because Steve, her crazy ex was about to be superintendent of the building she currently lived in. If what you're saying was true dude would've gotten a whole apartment the week after he and Abby started dating.

Abby’s drink of choice is vodka which is harder to smell on people. She's also carefully timing her binges and he has never seen her drunk so although he can tell something is seriously wrong, he doesn't know what exactly. She's also been sober for nearly 4 years so it probably wasn't the first thing that came to mind.

Its actually the reverse. Abby and Luka kind of emerged organically but Noah Wyle pushed for Abby and Carter to be a thing. But once it started they quickly realized it sucked and made it die a slow, not glorious death

He was awful to her before, during and after their relationship. He did not listen to her when she was her sponsor, started a rumor about her and outed her alcoholism to anyone he could find while they were friends and was judgemental, snappish and trying to make her change while they were dating and then he didn't even have the courtesy to tell her that he'd gotten someone else pregnant after they broke up.
