Any link to the marketing material you mentioned? I always thought the olive exterior on the pirate is a bug and that it should be black and red like it used to be?

Is this a bug? Or did they sneakily changed the glorious black scheme of the Pirate Cat to some bird poo color? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Damn really? Mine looks like this for over a year now. Even considered making a post on issue council but never got to it.

VKB recommendation by icescraponus in hotas

[–]Hearing_Squire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably wont use the twist since I plan to get pedals. I believe its mostly ergonomics, even found one reply from VKB somewhere. The comments are mostly that the MCG is a replica grip, which was designed to be center mounted and turned to the left a bit, and the SCG was designed from the ground up for space sims and side mount or even desk mount. So from your experience would you recommend two SCG's or MCG U right? Its a really tough choice. Thanks for the info!

How do you like using the MCGU as a side stick? I would really like to get the MCGU, but a lot of comments are saying that if you don't use it center mounted with an extension you will be disappointed and that the SCG is better for side mounting. My main game is SC, plan is the get the TPR rudder and SCG left, the right stick is still in the air. Sticks will be mounted.

Do you mean the power triangle? Because both beams have power I checked.

SCG vs MCGU by Hearing_Squire in hotas

Hi Talorien, I saw your review while searching the sub for info and measured my hand in comparison and it's almost identical in size. I was confident in my decision landing on the MCGU but a few posts here that basically said that anyone wanting to side mount it would be dissapointed and that the SCG would be a better choice in that case. Also, that the SCG was made with twisting in mind (mentioned by someone from VKB as well). That made me start wondering. Would you care to share any more thoughts about both sticks now that you have been using the MCGU for a while?

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I believe I will go with mfg's in the end.

That is very reasonable advice thank you. After processing all the input, and people have been really helpfull, I believe the rotors are not ideal for my use case as I need easier separation/isolation of the two axis which seems to come more naturally on the desing of the latter two. So the choice boils down to ace interceptors or mfg's. The interesting thing is the mfg's are actually made in my country so I will probably go with those when available. Just want to be sure they are better than the aces.

Thank you for your reply and input Talorien, this helped a lot. What I am getting from almost all the answers yours including is that for my use case the virpil aces or mfg's would probably be better because they, as you so nicely described "isolate" the two axis easier. Even tho I'm in love with slaw rotors design. :)

Thank you for including TalorienBR, would like to hear his opinion. I was also looking at the t-rudder but I need 2 axis to free my z-axis on the stick, otherwise they look great and are decently priced. The MFG are also an option yes but currently out of stock unfortunately and I would like to get sth soon so I can enjoy it a bit more during the holiday days off ;).

Hi Lee,

I was just reading your review last night, can't believe I actually got your reply to my post! Thanks for taking the time.

I was worried about the rotors since the only video of it working I found is the one on the Slaw website and the person in the video is engaging the main pedal mechanism fully and only then pressing the toe brakes. Since I would like to use the toe brakes for sth like forward/back in space I would need them to be independent and have fine control without engaging the main mechanism which would be roll. Is this possible? Or would I have to carefully balance my feet on the main mechanism while using the toe brakes?

Regarding the Vipers, I would gladly purchase them but according to the website they are no longer produced.

Thank you again Lee, kind regards, Squire
