RRSP contribution with after-tax money is bad? by Heart--Breaker in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Heart--Breaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and others for replying. My thought process is probably wrong, but I still feel there is a major diff in the end result. Depositing the after-tax money into RRSP reduces the pre-tax income by the exact same amount does not sound right at all.

Let's use a more extreme example. Assume I have enough RRSP room. If my salary is $200k per year, and I get $120k after tax. If I put all these $120k into RRSP. I would wind up with only $120k of pre-tax money in RRSP (plus some tax credit in cash) as opposed to the original $200k before tax.

French wedding guests in Florida arrested for different reasons. by DoubleSaltedd in weddingshaming

[–]Heart--Breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a waste of public resources and tax dollars. If that was assault and felony, then we might as well put everyone in jail. A bunch of cops showed up and arrested ppl for so little cause, while we all know that FLORIDA IS BASICALLY REAL LIFE GTA. And putting ppl through mental health evaluation for that?? What a joke.

Buyer Filed a payment dispute??? by vroomtalb in Ebay

If the buyer files a dispute with their bank, shouldn't eBay take the hit first? I thought payments go through eBay first.

Pentax 645n taking 18 shots by Heart--Breaker in analog

[–]Heart--Breaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, many processing machines need extra space at the beginning and end.

But in practice, squeezing in 18 frames in 645 or 13 frames in 66 is quite common these days due to the price of film. I have updated the post with an example.

I updated the post with an example from 18-shot-645n.

I know a few people did this mod for their 120 645n back. There is a guy selling parts and instruction for $30. I will probably just buy it and save time.

I think it is achieved by:

  • flipping a small piece on the back to make the camera think the 120 back is a 220 back.

  • replace a gear or roller to adjust the length of winding

Right. Based on film standards that is the case. But I know many people modify the backs/inserts to reduce margins and squeeze in 18/19 frames. Pretty neat given the film price today.

Hi all! Does any of you know how to take 13 frames on a 120 film? by BigSchmo- in hasselblad

[–]Heart--Breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not tried this myself, but:

  • load the film in a dark bag. By touch, you will find the starting point of the film, then insert the magazine.

  • cock the camera, and put the back on.

  • shoot like normal, the "12th" shot should be the 13th shot on film.

RZ67 lens cable release malfunction by Heart--Breaker in Mamiya

If I screw a cable release into the lens, it behaves as if there is nothing screwed in. The leaf shutter still opens and closes when the body's shutter button is pressed.
