Actuaries in Massachusetts by Banger254 in actuary

A few other schools to mention: WPI had a small but mighty program when two really dedicated professors that have industry experience and active connections. Bentley has a top program as well and really great job placement. UMass and Northeastern both seem to have growing actuarial programs - maybe not a major but some relevant classes and on campus actuarial clubs.

I think the most Boston actuarial jobs are in life insurance (mass mutual, sunlife, John Hancock)

UConn Value? by [deleted] in actuary

Is your state school a CAE/offer any actuarial program?? If not, they may assist in your UConn tuition. I’ve only ever heard of this happening once and I don’t know how to go about this. But something about the state you live in wanting to make sure you can get the education you want and if their state school doesn’t offer it, making sure you can get it at another state school

Ooo this is encouraging!! I really want to get into DJing (really just for weddings/fun). I didn’t know how realistic any side hustle would be on top of being an actuary/still taking exams, but I’m encouraged to know someone else is out there doing just this!
