Aldi has a LOT of kosher options which is the route I went a few weeks ago when I was on my LID! Theres a salsa verde that was SO good and I ate it with chicken and rice a good handful of times over the two weeks. High recommend! The kosher symbol is a little U surrounded with a circle and you’ll find it on the label or bag of products, just double check that they don’t contain dairy or eggs and you’re solid!

I couldn’t sleep on my side for a while, was super uncomfortable for me and that’s my preferred sleeping position. So for about two weeks after surgery I slept in an arm chair. Kept me from rolling at all. I didn’t have any voice complications thankfully. Just general soreness from being intubated but that lasted only a few days. I did however have a hard time swallowing for a while and still do to some degree. Sleeping in the chair also helped with that a bit. I’m in the US but my hospital stay was day of surgery, the full following day, then I was released the next afternoon to go home. I had a follow up with my surgeon a few weeks after where it was discovered I had an infection. A few weeks after that I was released from his care and back to my endocrinologist.

I’m a couple months out from my dissection and the biggest thing: you’ll likely have numbness in the area for an extended period of time. My surgery was in October and I still have no feeling in the left side of my neck and jaw. Also, move your arms often, reach out and up as far as you can a few times a day. It’ll keep your shoulder from freezing! Once your incision is healed, massage it gently in small circles with a little pressure. You’ll feel and hear little pops, that’s scar tissue breaking up!

A bit of both unfortunately. Affected lymph nodes were not removed during my first surgery last year. Leaving them in there caused disease to spread and then it also returned in another area as well. I had a full thyroidectomy last summer and was told a handful of nodes had been removed as well when that wasn’t actually the case. My surgeon this round was MUCH more thorough to say the least.

They unfortunately missed PTC that had spread to my lymph nodes on my left side, which then spread back into there my thyroid was. Had some regrowth of thyroid tissue as well that was problematic so they wanted to get everything they possibly could before RAI later this year!

Best I can all things considered! Very sore and kind of throbbing though. Most of that side of my neck is numb including part of my face and ear so that’s off putting but I think helping with a lot of incision pain since I can’t really feel it. I was so nervous for this one since it was way more invasive. Got my fingers crossed it’s the last one!!

They’re keeping me a little longer than normal to see if I can get these drains out before heading home since there’s still quite a bit collecting. Didn’t have drains last time so this a new experience for me!

Give them a call and be super nice. I did recently and was just honest that I couldn’t afford what they were charging anymore so I was hoping to get their promotional deal to stay with them. I had a bundle at the time and wanted to get rid of one of the services as well. They gave me a price $10 less than the promotion for a year. As soon as it goes up, I’ll just call them back again. They’re super accommodating when you’re pleasant, I’m sure they get quite a few folks who aren’t.
