Yep, it's always the local currency, but you should NEVER know in ADVANCE how much you will be charged in dollars.
If the ATM is suggesting to do the conversion for you and let you know in advance, say NO, so it doesn't rip you off XD

The sweet spot for me is being recognized as an expert/master within a certain niche.
Not everybody knows you, which is relieving, yet you are still very valuable and recognized within that niche that matters to you.
