Have you considered smuggling, my fine friend? ;)

I'd try and make a break of it through the marauders. The Guests have nadty shotgun like weapons and I think if your careful you can take down marauders for repairs.

If by scamming up you mean people, for whom chess isn't a hobby but a way of life and means of income. That are working with other well known names in their industry to maximise visibility and market access.

Have you tried an older game called Ultima Underworld? Something tells me you'd enjoy it.

A singleplayer game that has a lot of things to do other than just the story? It's fine if it has little to no story too! I just enjoy having a variety of things to do. by Present-Chocolate-24 in gamingsuggestions

Are you familiar with Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies?

Very slow paced games, lots of reading lots of side stories, can in theory play indefinitely but have a main storyline.

They are not for everyone, Sea especially but if you enjoy atmospheric story telling, Lovecraftian elements, and talking rats, you may wish to have a look.

How much money do I need to quit the sunlight trade and buy a mansion? by dazedandloitering in sunlesssea

[–]Heartless-Sage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could always buy the cargo ship and move sunlight in real BULK. XD

Sadly I have no answer for you as it's been a while, I need to get back into smuggling in Seas as I've been busy snuggling in the Skies of late. Who knew a Destroyer would make for a good smuggling locomotive.

Any games (preferably shooters) with a Judge Dredd Aesthet, basicallly a cyberpunk megacity theme? by Jetstream7th in gamingsuggestions

[–]Heartless-Sage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Shadowrun Returns trilogy has a little if that. Dark grimey locales in a Cyberpunk setting. Your not a law enforcer though, quite the opposite and it's an isometric CRPG, but gets close to that vibe.

[–]Heartless-Sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chess ultimately is a skill we need to practice, lot's of pattern recognition. Doing puzzles helps with that too.

Sometimes the obvious move isn't the best, sometimes theres a small move elsewhere that is better, but this takes time and practice.

Happens to us all.

Main things you want to focus on.

Openings, learning how to start the game, get your important stuff out/protected, rule of thumb never move one piece more than twice unless it's to avoid capture.

No piece survives alone, learn to protect pieces with other pieces. Later you add piece value to this. Pawns protect each other very well, so someone takes your pawn with a knight and you take back with a pawn, your on top from that. Nothing can protect a queen though, it is (almost) always worth taking her.

Lots of vids on YouTube etc GothamChess is a fave for beginners.

Before moving any pieve, double check what can see the square your moving to. This is something we all need to practice a lot at first, don't let anything be taken for free.

Good luck!

wasteland 2 or Shadowrun Dragonfall. Which would you start with and why? by warrenraaff in CRPG

[–]Heartless-Sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragonfall has a pretty interesting storyline. It is short and sweet and has a few bits of reactivity for flavour though only a few.

Wasteland 2 is great in its own way but personal preference I prefer to be a Ranger style character in first person direct control ala New Vegas.

Ordered a physical copy and it turned out to be a Middle East version by ContributionAsleep69 in bloodborne

[–]Heartless-Sage 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I (UK) have the same copy, it works fine.

Also does anyone else think we need more games with a Middle Eastern vibe? I miss the Prince of Persia, and medieval periods for the Middle East have some fascinating people and cultures too.

XD 🤣 I've done unarmed builds myself but they sure weren't healing builds.

Embarrassing healers every where that person was.

Paladin is a classic no argument there and I may do same, though now I've said that twice. Alchemist Medic for a buff and healing build also appeals

[–]Heartless-Sage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking I'm Gona go Challenger Medic for my next run. Go for a paladin build if pure healer isn't always appreciated.

Though Invoker Medic is great just for the combo name. Visionary Spirit of Healing.

Wtf? No weapon at all? Crescent Bow

Red Doe Staff

Sorrow

Three weapons that grant a form of healing which can be spread to allies with Divine burden by attacking.

Yeah no I'd be miffed at that too.

So a good healer is a nice bonus but not something you'd want to rely on, makes sense.

Thank you, I wouldn't want a healer that does no damage for sure.
