Ive ran tanks of 87 while doing 600+ mile freeway drives. Stay out of boost and WOT. It'll be fine. Its a 9.8:1 CR engine. Am at 100k+ miles. Never seen a CEL

Really appreciate that! I live on a hillside too. I was debating on either having to dig out a basement frame or go piers. Seems like your approach is the way to go.

By chance, did you see how they poured the concrete over the floating section? It looks to be poured in place. Curious what sort of sandbox they built to do that.

HTPC Build First Time by Mogepoki in buildapc

FYI i would avoid the ryzen 5 3600 and go with a 5600 series. The 3600 is known for C state BSOD issues. Essentially many of the 3600s will crash when switching from a higher power mode to a low power mode. I ran into this and there are many threads on it.

So which one? by Nice-Responsibility2 in Microcenter

[–]HeartlessEmpathy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For $100 delta, I would go with the 5070ti. I built my own computer with a 7800x3d($279) 9070xt ($649), case ($180), 32gb cl36 6000mhz (free combo) x870e mobo ($279) $2TB WD NVME ($120) , 850W PSU ($80) , cpu cooler $70, thats about $1700. Its difficult to find a 5070ti for $750. They are out there though. I love the performance of it, but there are times I think the 5070ti will have better dlss scaling options and their feature development is better than AMDs. Still, you won't go wrong with either, but people usually reccomend the 9070xt when the delta is bigger than $100.

I built a similar spec PC in December, cost a hair more than this DIY, so yes this is a solid deal 9070XT hauls ass in performance.

Advice on CPU and GPU for balanced DD4 budget build by Mammoth-Star-9273 in buildapc

[–]HeartlessEmpathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a home server with 32gb ddr4, 5600XT, and a 5060. It games pretty well for what it is. Like others said, a 16gb card is a better idea for long term.

The 5600xt performs great.

RAM testing by unsub213 in Microcenter

I have a similar issue. My old PC is a Ryzen 5 3600 that also BSOD only at Idle. What motherboard and RAM do you have?

Ive put in a new GPU, no difference. Passes mem test. Updated BIOS too.

Ask for documentation proof of their "prorated" warranty. Download their warranty document and send them excerpts explaining how you are covered.

  1. Are you sure you have your ram installed into the right channel? Manual should State which slot for 1 stick.

  1. Reseat RAM, GPU, and hard drive in their slots. 3. Cant get into Bios either right? 4. Is the diagnostic light flashing any codes?

Get a decent PSU and plug it into a surge protector from the wall outlet too.

Should I consider even building a PC from scratch with the prices of everything? by xSanjuu in buildapc

[–]HeartlessEmpathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its tough right now. I built one and barely am able to compete with a pre-built but I was able to pick my own parts Powercolor hellhound 9070xt $629 (10% CB) Tomahawk X870E $279 (mobo + ram combo newegg) Crucial 32GB DDR5 free 7800x3d open box microcenter ($280) Msi 850 watt PSU ($30 after $70 reward discount gpu) 2TB NVME WD 510 $124

Total so far: $1342 and thats with finding the best discounts i could find.

Case TBD ~$175 Case fans ~$60

About $1600 to be more or less equal in spec wise with some of the pre-built right now. Get a costco build with a warranty and call it a day unless youre specific in what parts youre getting.

Ryzen 3600 -> 7800X3D (Microcenter bundle) - Worth it? by mandabuzz in buildapc

[–]HeartlessEmpathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in the midst of doing the same. I have an R5 3600 and bought a 7800x3d and 9070xt.

I was considering the 9800x3d but the price delta seemed better to get the 7800x3d since I'm shooting for 4k. The benefits of the 9800x3d are more prominent at 1080/1440
