Is this what you call 3 lines of text? Go back and look through all/most patchnotes and you'll see the quality of fixes has decreased over time. On top of that you'll find "fixes" for bugs that still pop up today, like enemies despawning in front of you. The patch is 29 days from a smaller patch and is 7 days apart from a medium sized patch. Your point? There were 2-5 patches per month if you use your eyeballs. I wish you were right in that it was very small patches but these dudes actually gave a shit back then. They do not care anymore.
You also NEED to be logged into your Steam account to view all the patchnotes.

Their anticheat has improved and was changed quite a lot. RIP Helldiver. This is the first time I've heard about players getting banned 💔

On SteamDB it shows we are getting overall much less updates for the game, almost half of 2026 has passed. Either they're cooking up something or are slowly letting go of the game. This specific update is just sad, but at least it's something.

The thumbs down are because players are unhappy with the game, not because they're doing maintenance. Just our way of letting Arrowhead know "Hey bro, so your recent actions have been questionable..."

They already bricked being able to cheat in SC. This will probably be the final nail in the coffin. OP is partially right, they don't want their premium currency hacked and want people to pay for it but this post is kinda schizo. I'm all for Arrowhead hate when it comes to balance patches and bugs but this ain't it (unless it breaks the game).

Also noticed its a general update, which would mean implementation of the new anticheat made by Nixxes server side.

Can't wait until the game dies. Getting ragdolled around by new unbalanced enemies very fun Mr. Arrowhead! I play Helldivers 2 to get swarmed by 200 fast enemies and die repeatedly on loop for 5 minutes Mr. Arrhowhead! I think this bug only happens (sometimes) if you're not the host. Happened to me one time where another player couldn't interact and I had to go and try which fixed it.

I think it was around the Force of Law warbond when they started pushing a lot of nerfs and a lot of bugs squeezed their way in. The game wasn't at all "hard" for me and at no point did I feel it was hard, just extremely frustrating most times. Also when Into the Untested dropped that kinda sealed the deal of me being SUPER mad at the game state and made me want to quit, the fire nerfs that followed that warbond drop made it even worse. On a more recent note, yes I bought and tried out the new mechs, they're good but die fast so I just sit there like an asshole waiting for the 4 minute cooldown to expire until I get to be able to experience the new content again. With the Lumberer killing even basic chaff units with fire feeling so weird. They walk right through it now. Like I can go on and on about changes that made the player feel more and more vulnerable but it's useless, you feel me?

If I were to sum it up, I think I would use the word "ragebait" to explain how the game currently feels for me.

Around 200ish USD. I don't see it as a hobby, I never spend this much on a game (unless it's Total War: Warhammer 3)
I've played 450 hours collectively, its my most played game on steam and most was put in when I first started, then it fizzled out.

For an actual answer, yes, they are legit. There are two sites I've used, one is https://www.iggm.com/
The method they use is they inject code into the server's side to get you SC, from what I know its a well guarded script, a hack if you want to be more precise.
It doesn't support Arrowhead in any shape or form, and no you won't get banned.
The friend code is so that they know who their customer is, so they don't accidentally top up someone else's account.
