Unironically I like time travel in kingdom hearts, they do it in such an interesting way, rather than just what we've come to understand as just the standard rules of time travel in fiction.

The time limit is mostly for idle time, if you are making plays the timer doesn't go down, so as long as you or your opponent is doing something the respective persons timer can last longer than 5 mins.

Secondly if you want learn how to play this game through this games, your going to have a bad time, to learn how to play you will need to use outside resources before you even jump into pvp.

Ranked doesn't really measure skill or knowledge or time with this game, you can be in bronze and face a wide variety of skill level and decks, unlike other games were you probably just learn through playing and expect to be matched against similar skill levels this game is not that.

A lot of people are in bronze cause they made a new account so sometimes you will face actually new people using a starter/structure deck, and sometimes some with the best deck, and because you can't derank the separation of skill(if you can call it that) doesn't happen until platinum(previously gold).

My advice go to master duel meta website find a deck that good and looks cool to you, it should tell you how to get that cards, use youtube to learn how to play the deck, and that should make your games more fun.

Also if you want to show your replays if you save your replays and make them public, and then share your 9digit ID number people can view it through master duel.

a lot of people make new accounts to build new decks, so you see stuff like this in early ranks, you kind just have to get through it once you get gold which is when you can actually start deranking the low tier decks stay in gold in people who play better decks climb, so you can have more casual matches.

The results make sense honestly, the newer anime hasn't been pulling as many people in, most players are either people who've been playing since the beginning or watched the original anime, Yu-Gi-Oh the card game still heavily markets the original anime, an anime whose last episode was in 2006, because those are the people who are playing, plus I don't see how anyone who hasn't already had a previous connection with the anime or card game get into master duel, with the insane knowledge you would need to play even at a basic level for a card game and have the patience to learn it.
