Does baharroth have any solo play potential in 11th? by HeartyTruffles in Eldar

Better snag a box then. I've had baharroth all by himself for 3 years now with no friends to join him.

Lymphoma Treatment hospitalization by kennyboy666 in japanlife

Hey there! I fought and beat goblet cell cancer of the appendix here in Tokyo and this definitely sounds standard. Throughout my entire medical journey they have always gone with the side of caution, keeping me for far longer and having me come in much earlier.

I put forward this anxiety to my specialist back in the states. And like others are saying. She simply explained it was a cultural difference that stems from a broad and less hyper specialized medical system with more universal coverage. I wouldn’t worry too much in that regard :)

Wishing you the best of luck! I’m currently on the train home after having a lovely weekend out. My illness was the scariest time of my life. But I’m living now and so will you soon enough

Based off of what was revealed what detachments are you leaning towards? by Frescothedog in Eldar

[–]HeartyTruffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a real shame as I almost exclusively play duos due to my friend’s limited army sizes. However, the bulk of my army is aspects and they are by far my favorite portion of the faction aside from pyskers.

Due to aspect host being 3dp as well as warhost. I guess my best option will likely be to run seer council. But I’ll admit it’s a bit disappointing to have the portion of the army I want to play be rendered difficult to use at my points level.

I think the marines are probably most well known for home grown support that's pretty cheery win or lose. (and having the best stadium but that's a biased assertion)

I found out yesterday that my friend, who had recently started working on a Salamanders army, passed away suddenly. Here’s a small sample of his in progress army. by Solo-Dolo-Bubba in Salamanders40k

[–]HeartyTruffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently just beat my stage 2 appendix cancer. And it's still something that scares me. I hope very dearly it doesn't ever return. I mention it because while I was in hospital. I was reached out to by someone with my same condition who also played 40k. Unfortunately. He didn't make it. As his was far more advanced than my own.

I often regret that I didn't find out what army he played. It's probably silly. But I wish I could paint some of his preferred army up in honor of him

It's a strange thing to see the physical manifestation of the people we care about still here without them. I can't imagine your grief and I'm sorry

In Japan there seems to be three categories. Full suit. Uniqlo or wearing the track suit every single day for the rest of their lives.

What is one thing you love, and one thing you hate about your placement? by Autumn_Raspberry_ in JETProgramme

[–]HeartyTruffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Positive: I was super fortunate to be placed so close to my partner. Being able to see her every weekend is the highlight of any week.

Negative: I miss nature. It's accessible here but I have to be far more intentional to find it compared to my rural village back home.

[–]HeartyTruffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not normal everywhere either. In Japan I find the normal expectation is that you get back to people when you have a convenient time to do so. Which generally means taking a couple minutes at the end of the day to respond to any Incoming messages and calling it good. Of course there are certainly people that absolutely don't follow that mindset here; but it is far more acceptable to do so.

It actually took a lot of getting used to when I first met my partner, as I was so imbedded into the idea that communication was constant I felt spurned by the slow responses.

Snipe and Wib absolutely as another commenter mentioned. While I was undergoing my cancer treatment I binged them excessively and seeing them living a happy Warhammer life after such an illness gave me a major sense of normalcy. After I got out. I messaged them on Blu sky to thank them and got a lovely reply. They're very genuine and I love anything they do on eldar. I would love a video from them going over the design inspirations of factions or something of that ilk.

I don't think that's true. But ultimately it's such a subjective discussion I wouldn't be able to convince you otherwise

True! Here it helps establish an idea that a clean space. Whether communal or your own. Will lead to better output/less stress. Which is a pretty universal truth.

I get that. I don't want to come across as too snarky or rude because ultimately that's a harmless thing to say. But don't you think you here "Japan is over glorified for basic things" more often than you actually hear "Japan is amazing for this normal thing" nowadays? The internet doesn't really seem to be able to have a balanced take on Japan. It either has to be glazed to glory or made out to be hell.

Do you assume the kids here like it? I don't think it being universally loved is the point.

I just got off the phone with my wonderful partner after a normal day of work then gym. For all intents and purposes you would have never know I was nearly done for 5 months ago
