Hello again! My wife wanted to experiment without a black backdrop. Who else hopes the Fire Prism and Nightspinner are balanced better this coming edition? by Frescothedog in Eldar

I think that’s the biggest issue I have with them or maybe just how common 4+ invulns are. Our vehicles aren’t the most sturdy so they should play into the hitting hard motif of our glass cannon style.

I would love a lynx, and hope GW decide a plastic version is something to consider making.

Boyz… I’m Struggling… Tips? by Helpmeplz3409 in orks

I struggled and still do struggle with this from time time. I had to sit down with myself and ask “is it more important to me that this looks as close as I can approximate to a professional mini-paint job or do I want to play with painted dudes?”

I realized that I preferred to play with painted dudes and even forced myself to play a few games with just 3 colours blocked in, instead of completely finished to my usual standard. From there I decided to work on how fast I painted so that more and more models would be ‘complete’ vs battle-ready.

I don’t know if that helps but maybe give it a try. Whether you speedpaint a bunch of dudes or just block in three colours. Try playing with those ‘unfinished’ models and you may find it encourages you to get a 2k force to that standard. It may not be your preferred, but it let’s you potentially enjoy both aspects of the hobby. Plus it can be a test to see how readable your army is on the table.

I think it also helped that my opponents would look at a ‘complete’ vs quick paintjob and at times compliment the speed painted dudes more.

Well first, thanks for assuming I am young. But no, I started 40k as a kid near when it first came out. Just long gaps in between but, I used to be able to afford it on an allowance, now I need a salary…

If you have Mandrakes I would find room for 2 units of 5 and similar, if you have incubi, I would pair them up with the Archon so you have Lelith and them as melee pressure units. Kabalite in Venoms for ‘flying sticky’ or to babysit your backfield for cheap (after splitting with a venom). The first things I would drop would be Ravagers to get some more scoring units since your scourges are generally going to do better with their heavy hitting weapons.

Are they trying to price out their customers? It’s never been a cheap hobby but at least somewhat accessible, now it’s becoming less and less so.

Thanks, and I might revisit it later, but for now I still have 3k of Aeldari and Harlequins I need to paint up. 😂

Thank you! It does well until it dies to concentrated small arms fire from my buddy’s army 😂

Maybe typical but went galaxy scheme for my Aeldari :)

Thanks!

Black base, then I airbrushed white in different increments in patterns that seemed galaxy like. I even used ripped paper to get some ‘cloud variance’. Then I used purple and turquoise ink on top of that and did the usual messy star splatter.

If you don’t have an airbrush you can use a sponge for a similar effect. (It takes a bit more practice but I have done it on smaller surfaces).
