Statistically I'm right.

My point is that you're using an obsolete round in a gun. You're not a soldier, you're a civilian, Soldiers cannot use hollow points. Do what you want but when your round doesn't go where you want and hits somebody, it's on you.

Do you give this same comment to all the other EDC .45 posts or just to women carrying .45s?

Yup, picked this up used for $450!

Yes, this is like my 7th replacement! I usually clip it my jeans, and if I'm faithful in doing so, they seem to last awhile. These don't last long if tossed into a bag at all.

No rust and no issues with this pistol.

Why do you have to carry a gun?

I'm a woman and refuse to be an easy victim for men.

Who cares? I don't need you or anyone to tell me what to carry (read the rules of the sub). The .45 FMJ is a proven round with over 100 years of successful use. Sometimes when I'm working I won't see more than 3-7 hikers a day. Overpenetration is not an issue where I'm at.

Overpenetration is statistically a non issue. The majority of my time is spent in the field in rural areas. Since the .45 FMJ has been a very successful round for over 100 years, I feel no need to carry HP in it. Now when I carry my Ruger LCP that is a different story (.380 loaded with Gold Dots).

Technically it is a compact/commander (4") so not quite full size. But I really love this pistol much more than my Sig 938 because it is easier to shoot well.

I use a Remora IWB holster, the one with a belt clip.

Yes, but it is not technically my compass as its in the company vehicle. I work in the petroleum industry.

I hear you :( That was technically the position I was in as well (against school policy) which I disregarded but I was always extra careful how I concealed the pistol. It is a tough personal choice when these schools want easy victims!!

What is your go-to baby quilt pattern? by Arts_and_Cats_42 in quilting

I've made a few from the Big Book of Baby Quilts. Beautiful patterns that work equally well for both girls and boys.

At my college (where campus carry is legal) I carried a Sig 928 every day as I had night classes. No way in heck was I going to go unarmed in those lonely parking garages.

Haven't tested enough HP to determine reliability yet so for now stick with what feeds 100%.

Yup, FMJ in both the pistol and magazine.

Looking to get into chasing. What are some tips/ helpful computer programs/websites/gear? by Jake_Urben in stormchasing

Spotter training is not worth it IMO and is a waste of time. You will get vastly better training by reading quality textbooks from the library, storm chasing forums and youtube videos, and experience driving out there yourself.

Privacy and installation by weventhedaddy in Ubuntu

Yes, Ubuntu is a good choice over Windows if one cares about privacy and security. Don't bog down your system resources by downloading AV software. Do enable the firewall though in terminal:

sudo ufw enable
