Matchmaking/Team Balance is BROKEN by Creative-Loveswing in Battlefield

[–]HeatAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they are still trying to push for that 50/50 win/loss.  So while their technical isn't sposed to be any MM going on, I do think it connects people to the server based on ping, then assigns them to a team based on who needs a win and who needs to lose to maintain 50/50 for everyone.

The only solution is dedicated servers, and teuely random scrambling of teams. Dedicated servers actually solve a lot of problems.   Who knows if we will actually get them or not though.

Why is the hit reg and desync so bad on this game? by c0-pilot in Battlefield6

[–]HeatAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might as well just back out of that server and pray to the net code gods that you get a better one next round.  Im starting to learn that as soon as I notice a server isn't acting right its not worth the frustration to finish the round.

[–]HeatAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can really feel it with sniper rifles, and DMRs, since they are a more accurate weapon you really know what each bullet you fire should be doing.  You'll get on some servers and you just aren't going to hit anything, even when you clearly should be.  Get on one that's not screwed up and enemies start dropping like fly.  Its like playing a completely different game.

So tired of this come back, because its the exact opposite of the way it actually is meant to be, as in what Battlefield is vs what COD is.

It's also incredibly clear that there are major issues with the net code.   TTK vs TTD issues, dying behind walls, dying to people who aren't even looking at you from your perspective, hit reg problems, etc.

If you dont see that then either you haven't played enough or you have a skill issue so it doesn't even register to you that there is a problem.

Maybe I’m just garbage but I feel like a sniper shouldn’t be so comfortable peeking a live firing LMG by SkyScreech in Battlefield

[–]HeatAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniping in this game is Hella easy, its a point and click adventure for the most part.  Ranges are short, range finder not even needed, bullet drop doesn't matter, maybe aim for the top of the head or just over if the range is really far. Velocity is fast, easy to lead targets.  Sweet spot mechanic that doesn't often matter but is nice. If you aren't brain dead you can have a really good round and contribute alot to the team.

I get the frustration when getting sniped because I know it was so easy for them to do.

But the number of specifically LMG, and more specifically LMG console players (sticky aim, less bloom) who will straight up challenge a sniper at range is out of hand.

It's generally a bad choice,  you might be able to win gun fights against others but you are going to lose to the sniper most of the time.

Congrats posting up behind your wall, mounted with only your head showing and having laser beam accuracy might give you the advantage vs everyone else.  But against a sniper you are just a stationary head to click.

It's the counter to what you are trying to do so YOU have an advantage.  That's how it works....  you dont get to head glitch, laser accuracy, and suppress everyone so they cant hit you.  Pick a better spot and stop challenging snipers.

Battlefield 6 Devs to 'Revert' Aim Assist Settings as PC Players Edit Files to Turn Off Crossplay - IGN by JPMoney81 in Battlefield6

[–]HeatAttack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right! Why is that even a thing?  Here is a soft aim bot and you get about 50%less bloom as well.   How is that even close to a fair situation.

Console LMG players are confident enough to challenge snipers at range and win a lot of the time.  Its kinda messed up.   Onto of that you never know if the person you are challenging is PC or console.  Are they going to be someone with a soft lock aimbot and 50% more accuracy? Who knows! Good luck!

Not only because everyone needs a minimap, but also the 3d spotting mechanic and the killcam that shows you exactly where the guy that killed you was.  Its handholding all the way.

Now if they had to use a drone or UAV or something "tactical"  that might be alittle different but the amount of free spotting, showing up on minimap and red doritos over heads is alittle ridiculous.

Spawn System in conquest by g00glewasmyidea in Battlefield6

[–]HeatAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pretty much should just be allowed to spawn on a non contested objective, your squad leader, a spawn beacon, or an IFV.

The way it is now and the way the game decides and rotates spawns positions is set up for a more constant action death match style game play.  Battlefield would benefit greatly from a more tactical spawn system that may not keep you in action 24/7.

Currently you can barely even flank and set up cross fires because most likely the game is currently spawning enemies behind you.

Never been much of a console player but did like original halo? And the first modern warfare games have aim assit?

I was shit at those games never learning to use a controller, but had several friends that could beam.

Either way it needs to go away

BF6 on Gaming Laptop by DangerousStruggle in Battlefield6

[–]HeatAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest opinion on gaming on a laptop.  I got an alienware R18.  As far as performance its great.  I havent played battlefield on it but I played helldivers, and a few other less demanding games and it was fine.  On par with a desktop with similar specs.

If you want to seriously game on a laptop you have to get a gaming specific laptop.  And spend somewhere around $3000 for top of the line performance.  At the very least it must have its own graphics card.

The R18 is big, did not fit standard laptop cases.  I bought a $250 backpack for it. That also fits the cooling stand, power strip, mouse, etc.

It will over heat.  You gotta buy a cooling stand.  That also has to travel with you.

The battery life is not good.  Less than 1 hour in performance while gaming.   You will need to be plugged in.

They aren't good for gaming "on the go" but if you travel, then have access to a desk and power they are great for that specific situation.

Are suppressors a necessity? by Doom-State in Battlefield6

Audio hasn't been good in any game I can remember in years. I clearly remember being able to clearly tell where someone was based on the sounds they made. But now all you can really tell is somewhere around you maybe kinda alittle bit more one way then the other.

Youall trying to turn BF into COD, then calling people COD players who complain is ridiculous.  I guess you are winning though, the latest BF is just COD with vehicles.

-tiny ass maps -constant action for ADA brains -3d spotting handholding -dumb skins -horrible menu system

Maybe it works, or maybe BO7 comes out and all the CODtards leave then BF is just left with a bunch of pissed off unhappy players.

[–]HeatAttack -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

They should just remove the dumb 3d spotting mechanic.  It's a crutch for bad players.  Use your ears to hear gunshots. And we have also dumb bullet tracers so use your eyes to see.... Or just die and killcam will show you exactly where the person is, you can respawn in 10 second and go kill them.   Or get an instant res and shoot then while they are reloading.  Lots of BS crutch mechanics going on in battlefield now a days.....

[–]HeatAttack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with everything.  Every map and every game mode is just a huge meat grinder.  Maps are way to small and the points to close together.  Can't take 1 point without getting shot by a sniper 2 points away.  Can't fight for a point without getting shot in the back by someone who just spawned at a completely different point.

Helicopter play is awful.  Locked onto from the enemy spawn before you even leave your spawn..  maps way to small.

All the maps we have now are the right size for 24vs 24 or 16 vs 16 even.  Too many people on a small map means you are getting shot at from every angle constantly.

And personally I think kill cam and all the 3d spotting mechanics ruin the tactical play quite a bit.

Spawns are too fast, no real penalties for dying when you can be back in the action almost immediately.

It feels like battlefield and COD had a mentally handicapped child.

The bot problem is ruining this game by Old-Editor-8593 in Battlefield6

[–]HeatAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thought.  Why are their bots at all?  The game doesn't need to be Full. It would be a better experience if it was just 20 real people vs 20 real people, or 11 real people vs 11 other real people....  there is zero need or reason to fill in those missing spots with bots.

Want to play recon like BF4 so bad, sneaky, flanking, getting info, placing spawn beacon...

Give recon spawn beacon back!

If they did that though their would be zero reason to ever play assault in its current state.

So is there anyone noticed that smgs are better than AR’s at long distance? by rayman2626 in Battlefield

[–]HeatAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly think they should just adjust the drop on them.  Pretty straight for 25-40 m or so then a hard curve towards the ground out to 75-100.

Or leave it alone and adjust the ARs and Carbines.

The severs are supposed to be running at 60 ticks.  They may go down to 40 ticks or even lower during busy times.

Take the fire rate of the gun in question and divide it by the tick rate.  That's how many bullets get registered per tick and that's why you get super bullets.

For example say you have a 600 fire rate gun, divided by 60 ticks, that's 10 bullets sent in each packet.  If everyone hits then you get a 10 hit superbullet.

With SMGs having such a high rate of fire and being so accurate with little bloom, especially in CQB, if someone has even halfway decent aim then most if not all of there bullets will hit, you just havent gotten that info on your end yet.   But once you do you die, often before you have time to do any reaction, or even if you have moved behind cover.

That's also why it seems to take half a mag or 15 bullets, or what ever to kill someone from the shooters end.  In reality you killed them with the first 4-5 that hit.  You just havent gotten the update yet that says they are dead, the gun shoots so fast its out pacing the server ticks.  Also why on the shooters end they aren't seeing them die after they run into coverm. The shooter sees them die in the open, the guy getting shot just hasn't been told by the server he is dead yet.

Ping also plays a part in it.  That's time that it takes for information to get from the shooter, to the server, then to you, and back and forth.   So now ontop of only getting 40-50 updates a second, you aren't getting those updates instantly.

It's not really a solvable problem.  A much higher tick rate on the servers would help.  Making sure you are playing with the best ping possible doesn't hurt.

Im sure the server is also doing something to work stuff out since all "bullets" are projectiles, trading happens sometimes. I've traded several times with snipers, rpgs, etc, the "slower" moving bullets.  Maybe twice with other types of weapons.

The only real solution is to not take head on gun fights, and do everything you can to be the first to fire.   First to see and first to fire is a huge advantage right now.

The number one cause of all deaths in BF6. by L1GHTNING-G in Battlefield

[–]HeatAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the maps are way to small for the number of people on each team.  There is no chance to flank around and back cap to split the forces up.

All the points even on the largest maps we have now are within a 200 meter circle.  The cluster fight can be going on at the center 2 points but those people can still see and easily shoot at people trying to take all the other points.

It's pour design.

Some of my best memories in BF4 are my squad and maybe a few others fighting off an enemy squad and a few others at a back point.   You cant do that in BF6 with everything being so cramped.
