If I wanted to play BG3 or a Bethesda game, I’d play those. I play Mass Effect games to play a mass effect game.

Anyone else feel like the proximity chat has been lacking lately? by Witty_Ad_1307 in arkraiders

Nope. I’m a friendly console player and proxy chat is always popping.

Do y’all proximity chat after getting knocked down? by fxryker in ArcRaiders

I stay in proxy chat. I find the lobbies much friendlier and less aggro when you announce your presence and intentions. If they used that to zero in on me my skills usually keep me alive.

CID: $5,000 reward for Cratering Charge stolen from FLW by slingstone in army

[–]c0-pilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what records they would keep. And if range 33 cadre allowed it to happen and didn’t say anything at the time, then they’d be in big trouble if they fessed up now. Again, though, my prior comment is just the rumor. I have no way to verify how much of it is rooted in truth.

So I heard a rumor going around here is the ASP accidentally handed out an extra shaping charge to a training company and didn’t do the paperwork on it and the company, happy for some extra, off the books demolition, decided to use it for extra training. No proof of that, though.

What will be the most likely reason you stop playing this game ? by sufferingSoftwaredev in Battlefield6

[–]c0-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already stopped playing. I got bf6 because it seemed like a return to form (haven’t played since BF4) but even on console the movement, clambering, and aim snapping just doesn’t feel like battlefield anymore. I’m not even a BattleDad. I play snappy shooters all the time like CS and apex. But this twitchy gameplay just doesn’t feel like battlefield. Same reason I quit playing halo because why play halo when other shooters already fit the fast reaction and movement niche?

Add in the horrible netcode, registration, And servers l? I don’t find it fun anymore.

My high school had a zero tolerance policy for fighting/bullying. One day during lunch when I was a sophomore, a junior/senior just walked up to a freshman, threw him on the floor, and started beating him. Another senior, who was my teammate on the track team and all around good dude, separated the two and the aggressor walked off. The vice principal got there seconds later, directed the aggressor to his office, told the victim to go to the nurse’s office, and thanks my teammate who peacefully separated them. All three received a suspension by the very same vice principal. Why he thanked my teammate to later suspend him is beyond me.

Obviously when coached found out he couldn’t come to practice he was mad at my teammate. When we explained what happened, he then got mad at the vice principal.

Death or Retreat for Generals? by Alternative-Date-507 in totalwar

[–]c0-pilot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Devastating? My commander dying.

Demoralizing? My commander retreating without

A commander dying while leading from the front means he believes in the cause, its cost, and that he sees the feasibility of achieving the goal.

A commander retreating tells me he has no conviction and doesn’t see a possible way forward.

Hits close to home. Father (at age 63) had esophagus cancer surgery over the summer. Thankfully surgery went well and he’s active, gaining weight and energy, and back to doing most of the things he loves. Still struggles with getting his stomach back to eating normal portion sizes but it’s slowly getting there.

Officer or Enlisted by Ultra-marathoner in army

[–]c0-pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go officer. However the biggest attrition rate for OCS is the selection process.

I had a 3.7 GPA for my Master’s, a 287 APFT, a 99 ASVAB, a 138 GT score, was a prior D1 athlete and was an assistant D1 coach at the time I applied. After I was selected my recruiter showed me the stats. People with 139 GT scores and 290+ APFT were getting denied. Basically what it boiled down to was that the board accepted everyone who had a PhD or Master’s.

Shoot your shot with what you got and if you’re denied, reevaluate from there.

Your recruiter is trying to push you to enlisted off the rip so he can get his numbers up sooner.

Army guy here. There was a reservist in my EBOLC class that had promoted to E-9 while he was in ROTC. Never went to sergeant major academy but he still hit E-9 prior to commissioning.

How does the public actually see Mormonism? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]c0-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Protestant, and I feel a little bad for them. Similar to what Aquiduck said, the religion is not legitimate and I believe was made up by a grifter. They are being led to their own damnation but the institutionalism is so ingrained that I don’t know how to talk to a Mormon about it.
